Hi all m43 members I was considering to jump ship from DSLR to M43 due to weight reducing and bulky while outing, first camera i'm looking for is Olympus OMD Before deciding, here are some problems need yours to clarify here:- - Does AF Speed better than X100 (Previously use X100 and the AF extremely slow) - Battery Life (X100 battery life is short, 2 batteries to cover whole day trip) - ISO performance (How if compare with X100) ** Sold my X100 and currently use Nikon D7000 Thank you !!

QUOTE(NISMOgan @ Aug 23 2012, 10:37 AM) Hi bro, the AF speed is A LOT, A LOT better than X100. I can guarantee this. It is a real huge different. and faster than many DSLR ! As for batt life, since its using LCD/EVF sure it will be lower than DSLR. as for ISO u can try to compare in dpreview. As I can see, OMD can be almost noise free up to 6400 ISO ! I'm quite concern about the battery life since i shoot more in Raw file, because X100 battery life is and hope OMD could better than X100... Added on August 23, 2012, 11:18 amAny idea of street price for OMD kit set?? This post has been edited by leonghan: Aug 23 2012, 11:18 AM

QUOTE(NISMOgan @ Aug 23 2012, 11:35 AM) Batt life i think lotsa OMD users here can advise u the reallife situation or u can get the batt grip if u dont mind the size. Street price is around 3.1k body only, 3.8k plus the kit lens battery grip just too pricey for me at the moment, cost around RM 1k right??

My 20mm was stolen during my trip to UK. I am now getting more lens. I am thinking of getting either the 20mm again, or 45mm. But if the 25mm can justify its price, I am getting that instead because I can stretch my budget into getting the 20mm and 45mm together. Anyone uses the 25mm f1.4 here? Does it have the sharpness of the 20mm which I am very much in love with. I am also getting the EM5 in the future. But that will have to wait since rumors are talking about a new model coming soon. what is the new model ?? EM5 replacement ??

QUOTE(faidz85 @ Aug 23 2012, 12:52 PM) Not replacement. I read about it being the next in the PEN line and not the OMD line. Another rumor also suggested that there will be new model in the OMD line...something more pro. I don't know how that will be...maybe bullet proof. more pro mean more expensive?? because im selling my DSLR to fund the OMD EM5 right now

QUOTE(faidz85 @ Aug 23 2012, 01:03 PM) Haha...you are using the D7000 I guess? My brother is also on the verge to sell his D7000 set. He wants to go into M43 specifically the OMD. I am getting the EM5...unless a new model is just around the corner...the poison is just too strong. Yes, Nikonian at the moment Bump up my thread faster !! I wanna get OMD

QUOTE(seech @ Aug 27 2012, 11:39 AM) Thanks. Bought my S95 from them. Very good prices. Hmm.... let me see what I can sell to pay for the OMD. Yeah, normally post in the X100 group. Thinking about getting another camera with some zoom and for video. Thought about the X-Pro1 but no IS and not really for video. OMD quite impressive! Also quite impressively priced but still cheaper than the XP1. ya, im damn impressive with the AF speed and ISO performance as well as 5-axis IS body... last time i used x100 but end up sold it because of the turtle speed AF... Now im letting go my DSLR and migrate to Micro 4/3..help me look around if there is any buyer ya

Wanted something with some zoom also... not just for video so looking at OMD. I think I'm a sucker for retro designs.... Already have a X100. Love the IQ from the X100 but the OMD also very impressive especially for a MFT sensor even at high ISO. Video also very impressive with the IS..... Hmm..... can't resist, can't resist..... Added on August 27, 2012, 11:55 amThe X100 much better now with all of the firmware updates. I love it but sometimes need more reach. OMD IQ surprised me. I prefer to shoot JPEG as I don't want to have to deal with RAW. That's why I love my X100 but the OMD's JPEG's look great as well. Added on August 27, 2012, 11:56 amShould do a group buy for the OMD.... :-) can tekan for price. Good idea I will immediately get the OM-D once let go my DSLR should be able to get decent price if buy more

Added on August 29, 2012, 9:25 amYes, the AF is slow compared to kit lens n 14mm f2.5, I tried all 14mm, kit lens n 20mm, n I loveeeeee the 20mm with OMD though focus is slow BUT I only hv that problem in really dim light condition, otherwise once it locked d correct focus, the image turns out amazingly sharp n nice Btw, how is the kit lens performance so far??
