everdying: but the 6cm and 8cm make no difference right? since the panny lens is shorter than the olmpy lens... i guess that f/1.2 lens is as expensive as canon 85mm f/1.2L...M4/3 lens going expensive as L...

first target the 45mm macro...now even come out the 75mm f1.8, bokeh kaw kaw... even m4/3 can make us broke... for the 75mm..same almost to this...EF135mm f/2L USM but 45mm macro or mostly macro lens can say is a all round performer right?

QUOTE(NISMOgan @ Oct 23 2012, 10:53 AM) yeap at least for me hehe, all round performer except its narrow focal length which is not really suit my shooting style 90mm on Fullframe quite narrow lar...try to panorama lar...even the kit lens also fell like quite not enuf wide for me...( no money to go wide wide for 7-14mm) carry a GF3 and together with bunch of lens kinda weird for me even M4/3 lens system is very small in size...exchanging lens have to extra care than DSLR...exposed sensor unit rather than having a rear mirror curtain... erm..after removing the lens, the colorful rectangle is the sensor? wondering is there any thin plastic film covering the sensor?

i guess 14mm panorama show too much of distortion right? some sifu told me 35-70mm range on FF is just fine...guess doing panorama with 45mm macro...what would it be like... panorama with 14mm pancake, distortion kaw kaw... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « not with 35mm on 14-42mm kit lens...much better (equal to 70mm on FF) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « cheaper way to go ultra wide wide wide...i even try to shoot 360 degree...looks amazing but file size 200MB++...

the first pic is i do it 180 degree with 14mm pancake...second pic panned with around 120+ degree..i guess... vertical panorama with 14mm very less distortion...try b4..shooting my leg up till the sky...stitch back with PSD merging...but lost in fun lar...cant be desktop wallpaper also... i tried shot panorama with 1:1 format...much better than 4:3 or 3:2...

QUOTE(EightPhantomz @ Oct 31 2012, 06:23 AM) i bought my gf3 and oly peeps said its a girls camera worr.. with its limitation, no hotshoe etc, its still the "best" camera i had even to my D90 for its compactness and ability to shoot "great" photos. of coz cant really beat DSLRs (as we discussed alot).. its still a quality compact for me. btw, so many poisons in m43 fb group. hope can tahan. lol. thumbs up for GF3! didnt expect the picture quality for such as small body...can tar pau my D7000 in dry box edi...well...i hold a red GF3...make it even a girl camera...

this color.... night time sure problem with the 'advance' phase contrast detection mode...if i shoot at night, i carry a nikon SB-800...manual timing... trade off lor using this body...but i can put it anyway especially pocket...no need another bag..quick for street photo.. one thing i dun like the video quality seems like bit no good...compared to D7000, i mean the visual quality not really appealing, sound also bit cacat... sample vid capture with GF3... Gangnam style for charity

i didnt put much expectation for GF3 lar, but is very good for me for small camera and D7000's more portable little brother...now D7000 and 70-200 sit in dry box...
izit weird? right hand on GF3 and then left hand holding the SB-800 and take photo...but i just like the touch screen!

QUOTE(Bluesea77 @ Nov 14 2012, 05:24 PM) i thought gf3 or nex f3 or nex 5n is consider compact if using pancake lens? i seldom use zoom though. pancake lens can be use for normal shooting? sorry for asking silly question, i'm newbie. GF3 here is the slimmest when paired with compact...but the pancake lens is quite hard to get 'street photography', as the zoom range is quite wide, have to go very close to get the subject, but then if is friend group picture then is very nice! GF3 with pancake 14mm, which i was like 2 meter from the nasi lemak guy

QUOTE(BFGWong @ Nov 22 2012, 05:23 PM) Hi, I'm a premium compact user looking seriously thinking of joining the mFT club (due to the size/weight advantage - see my friends lugging the DSLRs around in separate bag while a mFT can fit in your daily backpack). Looks like the OM-D EM-5 fulfills what I'm looking for - planning to get the 12-50 Kit set (3700) together with the 45mm f1.8 prime (1000). However, some of my friends have serious reservations about Oly quality and build. For those who have this set, can I ask if there has been any known quality issues with this camera? Is that reservation justified? Thanks! personally OMD can be called as the pinnacle of M4/3 camera, no wrong choosing OMD..plus much better build quality than panny ones which using aluminum plastic body... the turn down for OMD for me is that it has small button, not suit for my big floppy fingers and the buttons are too spongy...and kinda too squeeze for the right hand site button (my hand too big) plus, OMD with kit lens cant really throw inside a bag...quite big there with long lens..me using Lummy GF3...really small... bright side is the kit lens provided gives you an all day shooting lens..from macro to everything! IQ side have to depend on your shooting setting..cant really blame on the quality of the sensor and etc...but is very impressive on the overall!
