Im planning to get either Ipad 3 or Iphone 4s
budget around RM2000 and I will sign up Umobile data plan (rm28 packages)

Main purposely of getting this toy is for online in non-wifi and entertainment and gaming.....

Get the iPad.. Good battery life on 3G.. Can last you whole day.. Tons of games..

iPhone apps can be installed in iPad, but iPad apps cant be used in iPhone.

iPhone battery runs down very fast compared to iPad when you do a lot 3G internet browsing.

iPhone is so small that it is not that nice for reading and web browsing.

iPad can play iPhone games, iPhone can't play iPad games

iPad battery life better than iPhone's

bigger screen for gaming , is a plus point also

Normally people compare iPad with Samsung Tablet or Sony Tablet and compare iPhone with other smartphones.

To compare an iPad and an iPhone is silly. They both serve different purposes, despite some similarity in apps and functions.

Ipad for me

Getting an ipad means your phone just need to be a feature phone.that's how I look at it.

Just bought then ipad3, love it so much! Since I bought the new iPad, I often left my iPhone alone

iPad for you use it at home more often, iPhone if you know you are going out alot. Bringing iPad everywhere is very impractical at least for me

I would think that the iPad would be better for your intended purpose.

However, based on my experience, I would not recommend Umobile.

I have tried Digi Discover Day, Umobile (postpaid) and Hotlink and the best in terms of speed, reliability and coverage, Maxis is still the best (but priciest though).

Digi gave me download speeds of not more than 0.9Mbps (ping was also terrible). With Umobile, I experience pretty bad speeds with ping of upto 5000++ ms but download speeds can be upto 3Mbps. Hotlink gives download speeds of 2-3Mbps (occasionally upto 6Mbps) and ping is 60ms to 80ms.

New iPhone is around the corner, and it is believed to be more than just a speed bump. Buy iPhone is okay, just the timing is not right at the moment while iPad has just refreshed.
