QUOTE(beer8bottles @ May 31 2012, 06:49 PM) There will be river sand as substrate. I don't mind it moving the substrate around as it will suspend food/waste derbis, hence cleaning the tank. There will be a big piece of driftwood and some flat rocks. But it needs some green to complete it, otherwise the tank will look kinda dead. I don't know if the fish will eat/destroy the plant. It's current tank is just river sand (and it looks really sad..) I need simple plants that do not require planting in to substrate (ie. soil, sand, gravel...etc), like moss can be tied to the driftwood. But will it clog the filter? Will it grow too fast? Help please. For the moss wall, it will be 2.5ft x 2.5ft. Not 8ft..@_@ I am a super boob, okay. Wouldn't want to go extreme at first try. Later it may backfire and I'd have so much clean up work to do. maybe you can try anubias and fern type of plant. but you need to tie it to the DW. and make sure the fish wont throw the DW out

QUOTE(kurangak @ Jun 4 2012, 01:45 PM) yes it depends... mine was quite problematic, d layer on water surface, i swear i can even pick up the layer with lidi... some say its because of OD antichlorine, but i dosed ngam2... some cfu here suggest black molly to fix, but my tank is quite crowded adi... so last choice, use surface skimmer... ugly piece of equipment (planning to cover it with moss later...lol...) but, does its job perfectly I just use the aged water. no need to pening kepala bout the OD of anti chlorine.

QUOTE(Malformed @ Jun 4 2012, 02:48 PM) I really wished I can handle a HC soon Do you think I can try HC in my current 1ft tank with 13w light, non co2, no soil LOL? try with glosso 1st. once you managed to grow the glosso, then you can try HC. HC is has higher light demand compare to glosso.

QUOTE(Malformed @ Jun 4 2012, 04:23 PM) Okay, I will try glosso Since it is also a foreground plant! When putting ADA soil into a new tank, is it necessary to put 8cm of thickness throughout the tank? Can I just pour ADA soil where I will put my plants? 3" of ADA soil?? i thought 2" is more than enough.. unless you want to create slope. but then you can use rocks to save on soil.. and if you have an idea how to scape your tank, you can just put the soil at the specific place where you want to plant. but then, how you want to fill the gap between??

QUOTE(ran1337 @ Jun 12 2012, 10:58 PM) Half of my tank, full with rotalas. Idk exact ID for those but all rotalas are healthy for now. I have full red, green+red leaf, etc. Weijie sold to me 4kinds of rotalas as i remember. I need root tab for glosso only. Growth are slow, some of it turned brown & died. Some of it turned pale. I have no idea for budget, guide me to the list i guess as for my glosso, I'm using BW Growth fert. so far, the glosso is doing well, same as my other plant. only marimo ball I've failed.

QUOTE(deric79k @ Jun 14 2012, 08:43 PM) buy auto one , better , lasting rm30 vs rm250... depend on budget also. if bariho don't have any budget restriction, auto regulator is recommended..
