Anyone can provide DIY lighting? Hang from wall or casing DIY. Looking for help on this smile.gif

The weather is hot tonight! The temp on my tank is 30.1c, cherry shrimps are still fine, thankfully.

wat light u use?i diy hang one, but looks ugly

I want to generate enough light for 168 litres / 44 gallons of water. If looking at 3 wpg calculation, it should be 132 watts. Although the height from the light to the bottom of the tank should be taken into consideration and reasonable. Please PM if anyone can cater this service smile.gif If everything is fine, I will want it in 1 - 2 months time. A good pay will follow a good service done of course!

My plants roots are turning yellow, they have been living in the same condition for more than a week and growing leafs, why is it that this situation suddenly happen? What are the possible reasons? I'm thinking the temperature of 29.5+ during the afternoon resulted the occurrence.

taiko, can wash... with aquarium water... hehe. i just dip dip to get rid of the dirt. maybe 2-3 months once? haha... or when i see the flow rate become less. smile.gif

but sure no need to change the bio rings...
*
Thank you smile.gif What about adding in additional bio ring.. I'm wondering how do I determine if the bio ring amount is adequate for the tank.

I have a tank that the water turned yellow, but no algae, just yellow, I thought of replacing the bio ring. Now that I know it's not the bio ring, could it be I have to put in chemical media?

QUOTE(jctasoga @ Jun 20 2012, 03:26 PM)
either that, can also change water 50% weekly until less yellow lo... what to do..

bio ring put until max ur canister can handle. sure enough already. dun worry about not enough bio ring media. worry about the nitro cycle is complete or not only... haha...
*
How to determine if the nitro cycle is complete or not hmm.gif I cycle it for few hours.. besides, this tank quite long already..

QUOTE(sisaiko @ Jun 20 2012, 11:27 PM)
u can simply change to new ring, but not all at the same time
if u want to wash it, wash with ur aquarium water
*
Okay, I took out the rings, but only washed the HOB, not the rings so I guess its still ok.. I added new bio ring to available empty spaces!

Because can see through the end I assumed it is in the middle. I think the tank will look very nice with black tape if the back is black taped or coverd smile.gif
