Do you guys having wifi problem? Is malaysia official ics i updated. My tab wifi always dc. So now downgraded back to hc
*
Nope, on the contrary, my Tab 7.7 WiFi connection speed is higher than my wife's S3 when connected to my new Asus wifi modem-router. Watching Youtube in HD really make this Tab shines. thumbup.gif

I tot tab 7.7 only support up to 32GB (stated in user manual)
*
using 1 Sandisk Mobile Ultra Class 10 64GB in my Tab 7.7. Out of the box on exFAT, it cannot be detected by the Tab - must format it into FAT32 in computer using SDXC-compatible card reader with >>Free EaseUS® Partition Master 9.1.1 Home Edition<<. You will see 2 partition in the microSD card, format only the larger 64GB data partition, do not touch the hidden small SDXC system partition. I think many just use the default Windows format utility to format the SDXC card unknowingly, destroying the SDXC system partition and thus corrupt the card.

After format it into FAT32, put it back into Tab and format it once again wtih Tab. Work like charm now. thumbup.gif

Which custom ROMs have u tried?

Have u tried Paranoid Android v2.23? Thinking to flash it. Anyone currently with this ROM? If yes, please share you views. Thanks
*
ver 2.23 is buggy - dun flash it. It will stuck at boot logo. Just flashed it yesterday without reading thru the XDA thread thoroughly, especially the latest post. Backup my rooted stock ICS and flashed it, stuck and luckily can restore back 100% from recovery.

but i just heard the bug is resolved. Wait for v2.50 which should be released very soon.

Parandroid 2.2.2 is the best custom rom todate ( based on Jellybean 4.1.2). Have been assessing it on my son's tab. Dont know why one user say ICS is better - infact i'd say all thel atest JB based roms are way better than ICS
*
wow...you got another Tab 7.7? biggrin.gif i was hesitate after i read hysteresis's comment but now i will go ahead and flash v2.50 when it is out. laugh.gif especially now it is 100% sure that i can just restore back to original in recovery.

flash paranoid 2.5 test build but din quite like the launcher. Much prefer the stock TW launcher. I have bought Nova but some widget just can't switch properly between portrait and landscape mode. Revert back to TW based SinghaLight ROM ultimately. Luckily the ICS Rom is also smooth and fast, although not as buttery as JB. Hopefully there will be a TW JB rom ported from other Tab in the future.

Guys, I need some advice. Why does my digi broadband sim doesn't work with Whatsapp? Curiously my fren celcom broadband sim can use whatsapp.
*
i was on DiGi line before i MNP back to Maxis early this month. No issue to use Whatsapps in Tab 7.7 for both DiGi and Maxis. Maybe you should uninstall it and reinstall then re-activate. Or can try clear its data in App Manager.

I bought mine online from seller marcus20125 garage sales and from Sri Computer ( lowyat). Advisable to get those whose distributor is Vector Digital for ultra good warranty service. Ask seller who is the distributor first. The other distributor is MCM ( Mobile Concepts)  , not too sure about their warranty services
*
hi, Benny, for those microSD card you bought, you can go back directly to Vector Digital? Or need to send them back to the seller?

Actually MCM stock also from Vector Digital. Some latest MCM stock come with Vector Digital's warranty stickers. MCM's warranty service is ok too in JB - from fastest on-the-spot replacement to longest 3 weeks. But i dun think they will entertain end users, most likely they deal with retailers only.

for mine, yes. Need to replace boot animation.

I buy from online seller but for warranty I go back personally to vector digital .

thanks for the info, Uncle Benny.

btw, my wifi on Paranoid 2.50 will auto off after a while....damn annoying. Really can't find a stable JB ROM for daily use, gonna flash back to stock ICS and settle down once and for all. Unless miraculously Samsung decided to release official JB update. sad.gif

trying to flash stock ICS on PA with mobile odin. stuck.

flashed through ODIN. stuck too.

anyone? @@ weird.
*
Just flash stock ics on my PA 2.5 with Odin this morning. Upon successful flash, when rebooting, stuck at Samsung logo. Manually reboot back in stock 3e recovery and wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache. Reboot system, everything goes smoothly. The internal memory wiped clean!

samsung logo. anyway, i took a risk to wipe data in 3e recovery. luckily nothing happened, so i assumed it's soft bricked and i managed to get it on stock ROM already.  sweat.gif

Added on November 4, 2012, 12:50 pm

ya, same steps as me.

but, it's strongly recommended not to wipe anything in 3e, right?  sweat.gif
*
But under the circumtances, no other choice other than factory reset in 3e. Have to take the risk but i suppose the risk of hard bricking is very minimal. sweat.gif

Managed to Install PA V2.5. It seems that trebuchet always error.
It it a nice ROM and i love it. Now revert back to Stock ICS.

after trying some custom ROMs, revert back to stock ICS ultimately. The slight improvement in smoothness cannot be compensate by instability and somehow the JB custom ROM felt half-cook. sad.gif

if the custom rom is based on official stock ROM, then the half-cook issue will be minimal. Anyway, everyone has their preference, for those like me who need stability more than anything else, stock ICS is still the way to go. Moreover, it does not feel sluggish at all on stock ICS. I am very happy with it.

Actually for me personally, I do not feel some much urge to flash custom ROM anymore. I flashed very frequently for my previous Desire and Desire HD, especially Desire as its memory is really too small, custom rom to use external memory as internal is a must. Now i just flash custom rom based on stock with some tweaks like init.d and deodexed for my Note II, so that i can use some mods.

I formatted the card to fat32 with EaseUS. And now, even Windows didn't recognize it...

benny888, how do you format your card? What software do you use? Please share your method
*
first thing first.... you use a card reader to format the card with EaseUS? Your card reader is certified SDXC compatible? If you format it with a non-compatible card reader, it will destroy the card for sure.

A simple way to check is when you first insert the card into card reader, can it detect it as 64GB exFAT? if yes, then ok. If windows pop up a message saying the card is not formatted and ask you whether want to format it or not, then your card card is not SDXC compatible.

app2sd wont work on 7.7

no need to use app2SD. I just run the swap memory script on my stock rooted ICS. Now my internal memory is my 32gb memory card. Can install as many games with big data files. rclxms.gif

finally there is a custom stock ROM with aroma installer. thumbup.gif Highly recommended for users who want stock ROM with option to remove samsung bloatwares. And the latest version LP8 is based on SEA region. Flashed it on my rooted stock LP9 ROM yesterday night without Wipe, so far so good. Din notice any difference other than the disappearance of those bloatwares. rclxms.gif
