Re: vacuum gauge, u did mentioned its a 3 wire setup. I'm guassing the rd wire is NOT ignition. setup shd be as below

+ve - ignition
-ve - ground
Extra cable - parking lamp

When u start your car, it shd be brightlight background. When front light activated, background light become dimmer, so it won't hurt your sight during night time.

There yu are, Bro kenjilew...

What I meant was, Kenji installed an external vacuum gauge, wiring need to put to parking lamp to activate dim light. Safe to said, the extra parking lamp can be take off, so the light will not dim even front lamp activated. It served the purpose of dimmer only.

I belive his current setup as below

+ve - battery positive
-ve - ground
Extra cable - ignition

Therefore, even his car not start also got light. Not sure whether my guess correct.
*
Yup, very possible yr guess is correct, Bro!

Me hv no experience with 3-wire type of supp meters.
Those me connected b4 used 2 wires. Even ole type Smiths had juz 1 wire fr its meter lamp in own replaceable holder!
Need 2earth meter body ourselves! tongue.gif

You guys using what engine oil weight? 30? or 40?
*
Reco SAE grade in pre-Oct 2011 (IINM) user manual : 50
Reco grade in newer user manual = 30
Used by most SCs : 40

Conclusion?
IMO?
Depends on wat one prefers... Better FC, free-er reving engine, more protection, etc.

Generally Ok 2use SAE30 - 50...
All within officially suitable SAE requirements for Msian climate...finally it's up2User. tongue.gif

Added on May 28, 2012, 11:00 amps. This SAE grade issue is similar to the perpetual discussion of whether to use Mineral, Semi-Synthetic or Fully-Synthetic Engine Oils...
If follow scheduled OCI, any of the above can be used. Boils down to basically to only affordability. tongue.gif

*
10%?
For FC of abt 10Km/L, that wld be only abt 1Km/L diff.
Yup, agreed. Juz a bit nia. tongue.gif

Using SAE 40 or even 50?
Worth it?
Mayb for better protection for moving engine parts?
YOU decide. icon_rolleyes.gif

IINM there hv been mention, in other forums, of some well-known car SCs "officially" using Mineral EO during OCI of their cars (not Proton ones)....tongue.gif

Makes one wonder why?
When those SCs can make more profit out of using SS or even FS oils?

Kenot help feeling that wat is more important is NOT the type but the API classification of those oils.
Wat do yu guys think?

Frankly, me had used Mineral EOs for my earlier rides and they all lasted more than 200k Km w/o any overhaul needed... thumbup.gif

tapped the right wire... but funny think is... my gauge have 3 wires... black red orange... for what i know is... black = grounding red = 12v power source orange = ignition... if the wire follows the original wiring tapping the meter will light fully even the no ignition is turned on... but after i tapped orange to power source and red to ignition, it works normal other than having small little dimmed light all the time... so i think the meter not functioning well... no warranty but got it at cheap price... so there are now 2 solution for me which is make a switch for the meter or find another meter to change... sad.gif
*
Did the meter come with Installation Instructions?

Since no relevant instructions, mayb can try out Bro david's connection points?
For BLM/FL, no parking lamp fuse in cabin fusebox. So mayb tap fr h/lamp fuse in fusebox in eng compartment?
Juz a suggestion...

dunno about the grounding cable la... that is just what i felt...

for the vacuum gauge, if according to your wire taping... the meter will have to light up 24/7 and just change the colour if i activate the front light... so cannot be right ?
*
Bro david's wiring suggestion (if it works...me dunno...) appears 2b so ie daytime ON when ignition is ON but dims when car lights are ON.

May I suggest juz use 2 wires...RED & BLK only?
Connect the Red to car lights source eg H/Lamp fuse in Eng compartment and Blk to car body.
So whenever yu switch on the car lights, the meter wld light up too.
Good enuf, right?

Your decision...

No stress...no worries... rclxms.gif

Moreover, as has been brought up b4 in forum, low fuel in tank might give rise to malfunction/premature failure of electrical fuel pump.
No harm/loss in filling up earlier, true?

In reality more 2gain...tongue.gif
Ok, Bros?

ps. Me fill up (if possible) when 2 bars left.

Was told the Yellow color bulb is more expensive, according to the mechanic. Or i kena chop already?
*
IINM ole gen Saga (not sure re Iswara) not need yellow bulb cos lens oledi yellow.
Juz a plain clear glass bulb wld work. Me had 1992 Saga b4. Bulbs were cheap... tongue.gif

And yup, a yellow-coloured bulb wld cost more. Dunno if it costs that much tho. Mayb incl his service charge?

Yup, Bro...fully confirm that "nuisance"!
Happened 2me on & off.

Hv considered making 1 like bottom pic. Then remove batt3 fr ori cos gotta use ori key punya immo chip.
However, hving 2carry xtra remote unit in my key ring deterred me somehow....

So me decided 2live with it. smile.gif

i didnt know we can transfer the immobilizer to a different 3rd party casing

our saga's is more compact than having one key + one remote unit dangling, but it becomes longer and limited design for the remote just to make it small

Perodua Myvi key/remote set:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Notice how the buttons on the remote are slightly below the surface of the casing, this can prevent mispresses

So in summary, MyVi>Saga
*
Yup, Bro...my suggestion is 2make like Myvi one ie use ori key with immo chip & separate covered alarm remote module.
Juz remove batt3 fr ori key 2disable alarm remote in ori key.

Added on May 28, 2012, 4:43 pmps. Not need transfer immo chip. Keep in ori key & use key 2start car.
pps. If can find shop, feel now got shop that can also copy immo code to new key...not 100% sure...
Hv seen banner up in few shops clain can do. tongue.gif

originally thinking of wrapping it with leather.. cut holes for the button
but that might be a bit complex and not that thick..

if taking a simply way, can just get a plastic from cd cover,
cut holes and put on top of the button area..

for a better one might need to fabricate the parts  tongue.gif
it should be like a small bulge over the buttons

or

something like honda civic key fob

Yup, Bro...really good idea! rclxms.gif
That wld really work! thumbup.gif

Now how 2cut nicely pcs & 2drill holes in the plastic pc taken fr CD cover?
Also the shape of the cut pc hv2 fit 1 side of the V-line on front of key casing.

Let's see ... Any ideas, anyone?
