Personally, I think Magina should be all firepower and no defense. Some people might think there is no harm in getting a little health or a bkb but unless your enemy is dominating your team hard, sacrificing offensive for defensive on AM is a very bad idea.

When it comes to Magina, all you need is a combination of attackspeed, attackspeed and attackspeed. Mana burn is your best offensive and defensive skill. If built right, AM could be considered one of the best hero in the game. You might have your own build but this is my favorite build in dota, simply because it's op and fun.

Starting item: Queiliing Blade + Tango x2 + GG Branches
CS as hard as possible at the beginning, get RoH asap. Work on power treads and void stone afterwards. If you have decent farm, forget power treads and finish battle fury. Once you have BF, creeping should be easy. Orb of Venom is also amazing on AM.

The next item is situational, if you are desperate, get hyperstone. If you think you can farm or have gold, get yasha then manta.
The following item is also situational, if you are still desperate, get another hyperstone. Otherwise work on basher/butterfly.

The final build should be as such: Power Treads, Battle Fury, Manta, Butterfly, Basher, hyperstone / Assult Cuirass.

This is not an easy build and it takes practice to get good at it. You will need to learn to time your initiation, dodge spells, pick on weak heroes and most importantly, Smack! You'd be surprised at how fast you can down an opponent especially with your images. Check out www.dotaparadise.com for more DotA guides. Peace wink.gif

Orb of Venom only works if you buy it before putting a point in Mana Break. I usually get Tranquil Boots on AM to outrun people, as I believe in landing more hits instead of getting more aspd when you can't even touch your victim.

I just don't like Manta on Riki or AM, since they have no ways to disable their victims, so they can just run away. I'm more interested in ganking build rather than getting Battlefury and farm mindlessly. A fast Hyperstone is awesome after Basher for it's cost.

It's true that there is a bug where you need to get orb first before you invest a point in mana break but I still think its worthy. Also, in order to outrun people you have to make them run in the first place. You can always bring a friend to help you stun/disable.

Manta on riki is bad but manta on AM is awesome. Simply because you burn 3 times the mana, confuses enemies and removes negative spells. It is one of your counter single target stun skill in place of bkb. Like I said earlier, with the help of a disable from your team you can drop an int hero probably before their disable wear off.

Battlefury isn't just a farm item. Hp and sp regen allows you to blink around more freely, which translates to more farm/gank time. The extra damage and cleave is just another bonus.

I play PUB games, where you can't rely on your teammates for disables/ stuns, as they might be n00bs. I'm on my own in killings. Orb of Venom is my core item for AM / Riki/ any meleee DPSers. I'll miss a lot of kills without it.

I guess everyone has their own play style. I love this build regardless, the super fast attack animation is just too cool.

I usually play on higher tier games where teamwork is crucial. On pub games I simply farm and carry late game.

Why I dont see Vladmir Offering? My early game build almost always Power Treads, Vladmir, 2x Wraith Bands, followed by Basher. If can farm go straight to Hyperstone, if can't Yasha to S&Y or Manta. BKB is very situational. Hardly will go for BF.

Really, BKB is more for organized pro games, in pubs, it's situational. Orb of Venom is core!

I've tried Hood vs burst spammers like Tiny and Morphling, their hits have no feel at all. cool2.gif

Haven't you all head of the ultimate AM guide??

Just follow these steps to build the ultimate pub stomping Anti-Mage

1.) Pick Anti-Mage before anyone does, nobody deserves it better than you.

2.) Feel and become the Anti-Mage. Dwell into his hatred of magic.

3.) Take the mid lane as soon as possible. Ignore any plea for the mid lane because they are not worthy of the mid.

4.) Taunt your opponent with "Magic sucks" or "Invoker you slut"

5.) Burn dat mana and laugh

6.) Press R everytime your teammates get that hero down to 20% hp. There are not worthy of taking the kill either

7.) Blink Dagger must be your first after boots. Just LOL at them pubs with dat double blink.

Invoker : Lulz, anti-mage couldn't reach me. What a ROFL noob

Anti-Mage: Hurr Durr, Double blink. Now its time for surprise buttsecks

Invoker: I has tasted the gg

8.) Rush a Dagon 5 a.k.a Mage slayer 5.0

9.) If No.6 fails, use no.8 as a backup. Anyone who rages about "KS" has been possessed by the evil magics and
and must have all his kills gifted to you, to release him from the curse.

10.) Finally the Anti-Mage final mega ultra build: B.O.T, Dagon 5, Shiva. Force Staff. Blink Dagger, Ethereal blade

11.) Dagon 5, Shivas, Ethereal, R

12.) ???????

13.) Profit with Rampage and so much Lulz

14.) Invoker cries everytime

No need to thank me.

Agree. Anyway TS you can try this for AM:

1) Buriza-do Kyanon
2) Butterfly
3) Divine Rapier
4) Divine Rapier
5) Divine Rapier
6) Divine Rapier

Blink and hit. Run while your enemy activate blademail. LOL.

For me I will replace manta with Buriza or lifesteal.
