Haha, its not a competition. Was just wondering whether pmc sifu will be interested in setups like yours, since its pretty impressive~
Does it work for dragonflies or other insects? Or just spiders since they're eyes are "reflective"?  hmm.gif
*
hehe doesn't mean to be competitive ... just admiring his work
most of my pic in this 3 weeks are used with that O ring...
seems useful for overall lightning
box diffuser are great n powerful but not enough for subject like spider or robberfly ... (for me laa ...)

used with o ring ..

Damn man your macro shots are good  thumbup.gif
I think the O ring is not that suitable unless its sort of like your 1st uploaded photo, when the focus is on the eyes and the background is dark hmm.gif Just my 2 cents haha... I know nuts about macro
*
hehe tQ bro...
still learning from sifu2 ...
like most ppl say ....there's no perfect diffuser for all situation ..hehe,

Thanks  smile.gif
Thank you, just practice more.
Once you know the technique it will not be difficult to get similar shot like this.
And macro photography is actually much cheaper than i thought.
cropped body + tamron sp90 macro lens + smallest OEM flash (SB400 or 270EX mk2) + DIY diffuser can produce much better result than mine.
my equipment : 5dmk3 + 100mmL + 600EX + Stupid diffuser(cost more but lousier result lol doh.gif )
*
hehe ...yeah, macro can be cheap...
diy diffuser are the best ..but hv to test until get the best for u ...
from what i been reading ..please correct if i'm mistaken

crop body = extra magnification, which is good for macro
ff = more detail ....

so which is for u ?hehe

I would get cropped body like 650d or 60d.
They are lighter for handheld (i shoot handheld only)

Check this out

and check out his photos as well

Nice shot man! So sharp throughout! I'm still figuring out how to get the best out of extension tubes haha  laugh.gif
hehe yeah, with tube can be quite difficult ...esp manual one.

but definitely can also produce very good result... but be very patient
..haha the reason why i switch to raynox.

but definitely the lot's of ppl just using tube + 50mm ..
