QUOTE(5p3ak @ Aug 14 2013, 09:14 AM) but I look like got bengkak I don't think they're eyebags as they're not dark. The bengkak looks cute to me. QUOTE(Baronic @ Aug 14 2013, 11:25 AM) @pftj i thought of doing that but when i tried there was just too much empty space at the right . The tree bark was sorta bokehed on the farright cuz i wanted to sorta make it as if theres a spot light on the lizard hence the sharp detail of the bark around the lizard and the lizard itself XD haha u definitely like your subjects a bit off the centre. I shud try some possibilities with it. The lizard was moving but not that fast. I used a 70-300 tamron for this shot. For me I would do what [PF] T.J. said, looks better to me. I won't put that much thoughts on my pictures, I won't even notice that bokeh on the far right of the bark. But it's good that u do so .

QUOTE(sukhoi37 @ Aug 29 2013, 11:41 PM) Thanks ! Thanks Thank you, just practice more. Once you know the technique it will not be difficult to get similar shot like this. And macro photography is actually much cheaper than i thought. cropped body + tamron sp90 macro lens + smallest OEM flash (SB400 or 270EX mk2) + DIY diffuser can produce much better result than mine. my equipment : 5dmk3 + 100mmL + 600EX + Stupid diffuser(cost more but lousier result lol ) How about macro on Sony NEX 3N / Lumix GF5? How cheap? RM300 for all the macro stuffs enough to produce decent results?

QUOTE(sukhoi37 @ Sep 1 2013, 12:51 AM) RM300 only enough for a Raynox. I'm not sure what macro gear available for m3/4 Oh crap. So how much did u invest for macro? QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Sep 2 2013, 09:45 AM) Thanks man, appreciate it! I think the shot stands out because (luckily) the surrounding is grey colored cement and some dull-colored wilted leaves, and since the cat is white, this leaves only the blue of the kitten's eye, making it striking » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Shot taken with a 24-70mm F2.8 1/250 ISO 800 F2.8

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Sep 3 2013, 09:20 AM) Lovely shot man! The pink color is so soothing Imho, yes. The 16-50mm kitlens is no joke haha Here's a photo taken with the NEX-3n and that lens: Tawny Coster (Acraea violae) by PF T.J., on Flickr However for macro shots, the NEX-3n will definitely have problems focusing. It will keep on hunting based on my experience. So it might be better to just use manual focus instead The trick to creamy bokeh using a kitlens is to shoot at its maximum focal length (50mm in this case) at its minimum aperture value (F5.6) I see. But isn't the minimum focus distance for that lens is 25cm? So have to crop la? Nvm can focus on small objects good enough liao. Manual focus need to buy anything extra such as extension tube all that? I thought usually big aperture results in creamier bokeh? What happens if u use big aperture? If I get NEX 3N and want more serious macro, at least how much more should I invest? So-so quality enough.
