depends on what game lor. but for light gaming - 6200 is just fine IMO, after all the 5200 is aged already. good if you can get the 6200 128bit version, mine is the 64bit version. i think there are 32bit versions too. http://www.3dnews.ru/video/geforce-6200tc/index03.htmhave a read on this to understand the 6200 cards better (regarding NV43 vs NV44) http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/02/08/nvi...ache/index.htmlsiauann, look at LYN 3dmark threadThis post has been edited by goldfries: Jan 2 2006, 07:34 PM

TC ver is alot slower..perhaps a 100-125% slower i mean. The only thing that benefit Nv43 vs Nv44 core is the max clock after OC. NV43 is design for 6600GT..therefore..it capable to do at least half of 6600GT Performence after OC if you using the normal 128bit Ver like MSI. If 6200 with GDDR2 or GDDR3..it actually 6600LE with no SLi. 6200TC have different tech compare to Nv43 core because a 6200 on all condition can guarentee a 4.5k 3dmark2003 score if u have at least a amd proc running at 2.0ghz and above. I do few test with my old 6200..running it at various speed include 350/500 to see the 3dmark2003..and at 500/600 (9600XT speed) ,It doing around 5.5k and above while 9600xt at the same clock doing 4.3k. Something that OC a very little. Core speed was default with 4Pipeline..and Mem 500>550. This post has been edited by Cyclone87: Jan 2 2006, 10:33 PM

that's why i say earlier your post must be in more detail. cos earlier you say 6200 can beat this la that la........... we must make sure it's the correct 6200 lor. cos to a non-techie user, a 6200 is a 6200 - they'll sure get the cheapest 6200 they find, later if they don't get the performance you mention then susah leh you get into trouble. EDITED : btw here's my 3dmark01 for 6200TC default installation on my 2ndary rig http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8848569not bad. 9798 3dmark01se. u caant compare wit his one coz his one is pci-e.. mean while ours are agp.. mine also around that.. but mine already oc one.. setting same below my sig.. gc running 300->410/500->560 score 01=10.2k,03=2.9k,05=1.5k.. quite low i feel coz is 64bit version.. later after buy new psu.. gonna push more... bsides that, ur fps also depends on d nforce driver.. so, u need to try find d best driver for ur pc... This might be off-topic... but what the heck....
6600GT 8-pipelines....
can we lock 4-pipelines?
It sounds stupid, but in other term you can be smart as well....

QUOTE(low yat 82 @ Jan 4 2006, 12:54 AM) wat u mean by this sentence? i dun get it... well, i don't get what soulfly is saying either......... but anyway - my sentence was saying that 6200 is a really slow card, even slower than the many aged cards like R9500 Pro, even Ti4600 and all....... even those faster cards can't fully utilized the bandwidth given, let alone the slower cards.

not worth unless can unlock the pipes - but even if can unlock the pipes, i'd rather get a 6600GT for that price, unless of course if the fella can unlock and OC kau kau kau then it'll be good.
