incoming Monk! getting my purchase this afternoon

any builds or guides for beginner monk? what to focus? what to add? what to equip? what's the best build for starting a monk?

so different from diablo 2 where u get to choose points to upgrade whichever stats, this one auto upgrade? i was having a hard time searching for stat points lol now that i see this i know its auto upgraded..

and for the skills as well huh.. more balance la like that get to use all skills lol

guys, is it normal that the monk still uses his fist as attack even though he's equipped with weapons??

when i first equipped with daibo, i can see him wooing his daibo, after change another daibo, no more using daibo, using his fist to attack zzz..

now equipped with swords, still using fists to attack

i wonder does the damage actually being dealt?

i see.. understood.. meaning all monks also act this way la?

solo Belial at level 23 managed to kill him

guys, when u hunt for items in AH, what's the main stats u look for in ur equipment? from weapon to armor to rings and necklace

ok dex is a must for monk, besides that? what's the best u look at in equipment? what's crucial for a monk to have in its item build?

for me, i look for:

1) +Dex
2) +vitality
3) life on kill/hit
4) life steal
5) attack speed


guys share ur builds

playing D3 at office?????

i not yet reach the level where my passive will translate my dex to armor as well

what aura gives u life generation? mantra of healing? coz im thinking since monk has high attack speed and high dex/damage, having a lifesteal or life on hit/kill is good to stay alive using less healing skills and replace it with damage skills? no??

now lvl 29 only still in normal mode, started playing since last saturday

now in office, lemme check my stats and builds later on in the evening and do give some comments

should be sth like that if im not mistaken:

lvl 29
2k HP
almost 600 dex
damage 200++
dodge 20%

dagnarus = 34 monk, 750 dps 7,7k hp

me = 29 monk, 600dps, 2k HP

5 level difference but dps and 7.7k hp seems quite a big gap

yeah undeniable monk is really godlike, at least for me now in normal mode lol.. my friend using WD cant even survive 2 hits from Belial, i can solo no problem without a headache i wonder what other character can match the godlike monk normally i just co-op with my WD friend only, never get to see other characters yet lol, coz all different stages d

yeah i believe a few more days i will be able to finish off normal mode, by the way, how many Acts are there in one difficulty mode ar? hahaah..

roger that bro basically looking for +dex +vit items now.. not enuf $$ to shop in AH and always mobs dont drop nice items for me deng!!! just normal magic items and never at all any rare items

+dex will lead to increase damage/dodge am i right?

+vit of coz increase HP, my 2k HP seems to be really low

when should i start having equipments for resistance? as early as nightmare mode good enough? or till hell or inferno?

what are the stats that can increase resistance level? or merely just equipments?

for every gems socketed into different equipment ie armor/weapon has different effect.. and i saw that there will be details when u scroll ur mouse onto the gems it will say for example ruby "insert into weapon +blablabla OR insert into helm and +blablabla"

should we just follow that guide or is there any other way to tweak around it?

will the % stack for magic find items? say helm +7% and armor +6% = total 13% chance of finding magical items? or gold % or whatever la..

just to ask for some opinion on my builds on stats:

lvl 32 monk, just finished smacking diablo's a$$ on 1st attempt SOLO!!! never really expect diablo to be so easy thou now just moved on to nightmare mode

Strength: 290
Dex: 736
Int: 103
Vit: 286

Armor 1078
Damage 368
Dodge 45.6%

3k HP

good to go in nightmare mode?

oh my i just spent about 100k or maybe more than that in AH to get my current gear hopefully can still use use in nightmare mode la.. now no more $$ liao..

actually asking a real noobs question here.. what's the difference between ppl saying their dex is 700 and DPS is 1k? what is the full name of DPS actually? damage per second?

from my understanding, say dex = 700, when i go to detail stats, my damage increased by dexterity will be 700% also... so what is DPS?

lol u need luck when bidding, hopefully there's no one there to outbid u!! and of coz gold!!

for me i always dont like to bid and keep a lookout on buyout price only... cant always keep track on the bidding price

i probably think that u always get lower dps and stats due to that u never filter the character column when searching for equipments.. go direct to the items for specific character ie filter "Monk" rather than filtering by "yourID Monk" coz when u filter by ur ID, items appear to be lower by a few level than ur current level.. thus the lower dps and stats on items

Added on May 25, 2012, 11:20 amis it appropriate to ask for monk items for sale here? cant seem to find a LYN AH for monk going through the AH is just too time consuming and hell of a long list plus some players price it too too high.. bidding also always cannot win coz u need lots of cash in hand in order to keep bidding

by the way, how to train the Artisan using the page of blacksmith/crafting arrr?? i collected a lot since is started nightmare..

i clicked the "train" tab it sucks my money cant use the scroll to train leh..
