really risky...  sweat.gif No other way to revive? That's scary... Thanks for the info...
For the kies update, if half way update, is it safe?
ok.. I might flash taiwan rom since already downloaded it..
Can help to confirm the Chinese input in malaysia rom? Thank you
*
any half-way flashing with power cut will result in bricking most of the time unless the updates is done in a way that the ROM will first be uploaded to your phone before beginning the flashing

I never really like the looks of Kalagas, looked very messy. But that just me icon_rolleyes.gif

yes indeed it is. I don't like it either but the default RR V1 ROM comes with this pre-installed.
Lazy to download the stock theme laugh.gif

I flashed it through CWM. It just take a while, no wipe required.
The stock theme is just 103MB download.

Maybe I'll install the stock theme later tonite laugh.gif

mine note got a minor crack at the same place too doh.gif

If more people complain got crack at the same place, higher chances of claiming cos it will be more like a manufacturing defect rather than wear & tear.

Is there any posibility the phone will be brick after we flash the ICS malaysia rom and factory reset it?
*
depending on how you wanna do the flashing.
If you're on official GB 2.3.6 LC2 Malaysian ROM then you only need to update it via Samsung Kies (official way) and the risk of bricking is virtually zero. Even if it does, you can always go back to Samsung Service Center and said that you did the update to the ICS 4.0.3 LP9 via the Samsung Kies method.

and if you're planning on flashing via PC Odin, just make sure that your computer have backup power supply just in case black out. Otherwise, use notebook for the flashing.

and if you're into rooting, then you should know more before asking biggrin.gif

I've rooted my s2 before. Now just worried about cases i read in the xda about hardbrick. So does reset to factory with official ICS have the probability to hardbrick my note? Just got it today btw. tongue.gif

imma gonna sapu the zslpf . enuf of my rocket 23 gb liao. sien already time to go ics stock for a few days.

anyone got any information for me between alba 2.3 vs rocket v1 ?
*
go for RR V1. The only problem is that the ROM comes with Kalagas Theme. If you don't like it, you'll have to flash the stock theme which is another 103MB worth of downloading laugh.gif

I am trying to hardbrick my phone by wiping data through recovery  in all the ics roms i have tested on all the supposedly unsafe kernelz lp5, lp6, lpy n lpf. No hardbrick yet. I have just also wipe data on this latest msian lp9. I m reverting back to cyanogen9n i always wipe data first than only restore back my previous rom
I still feel these unsafe kernel is overexaggerated
*
you were also planning to go claim warranty after successfully bricking your GNote right? brows.gif

does wiping data generally means wipe data+ wiping dalvik cache and wiping cache partition in CWM as well or just wipe data/factory reset ONLY will cause hardbrick(eMMC bug)?
*
There are 3 wipes: wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache.
At the current scenario, the guys that got hard bricked so far got it when they perform a wipe data on a so called unsafe kernel. You should be technically safe when wiping cache and dalvik cache. None so far with bricking problems with that cache wiping.

Not only that... the ROM won't deep sleep, have to reboot a few times over the day to get it to do so...

Also, it has some bug that forces it not to charge when you plug via USB as well. I still dunno what is the root cause of this. Much more worryingly when it's connected but not charging it will cause the phone to heat up like mad and I have to keep rebooting to make it charge.

While I like the flexibility of P.A.D, but I still don't think the ROM is ready for daily use yet. Going to switch to LPF ROM.
*
I was about to flash to ParanoidROM but after reading all the complains in XDA regarding the battery life, I decided to stick with RR V1 ROM instead. Now with the rooted LPF kernel, I hope it gives better performance.
