Since the CL final no longer have a bearing on Arsenal, would prefer Bayern to win.

3rd spot is totally massive because anything can happen in the CL final.

QUOTE(ahaksz28 @ May 14 2012, 12:40 AM) QUOTE UEFA subsequently ruled that the defending champions qualify for the competition the following year regardless of their domestic league placing. However, for those leagues with four entrants in the Champions League, this means that if the Champions League winner falls outside of its domestic league's top four, it will qualify at the expense of the fourth-placed team in the league. |

It's been said but the only one playing CL playoff spot is Spurs if Chelsea doesn't win. That is why it was so important for Arsenal to get 3rd to get a confirmed slot in CL.
In addition to that, having the confirmed CL slot would give more weight to upcoming transfers. With RvP contract, still confident he will sign. His family is settled and that is a big factor. I believe RvP had already been told to keep the contract talk low profile even during his Golden Boot interview. |

QUOTE(Corrupted Spirits @ Jun 22 2012, 11:56 AM) I don't want Flamini back. Not that I have the power to make the decision but still Squad/Bench player can't get 30K per week in Serie A? How are they going to compete for talent signings against leagues like PL? Arsenal have players on 30-50K per week on the bench...Did you guys know why Flamini was released by AC Milan. Reports said that this was because AC Milan only offered him 28k of wages compared to his soon to finish contract that is 73k wages per week. And out of 3 times he has been transferred, 3 times is also FOC |

Two quality forward transfer completed, with time to integrate into the team, at good prices; good work done by AW and club.
Their wages at 50k? |

wow, what a news.
two things i have in mind. firstly is the timing of his announcement. why is he jeopardizing Arsenal window transfer so early? if he wanted more big name signings to come, saying the club doesn't have ambition publicly certainly doesn't help. secondly, i have not idea does RvP actually wanted to stay? two days ago, AW has said he wishes RvP to finish his career with Arsenal and the club to do everything they can to retain him. AW earlier said Giroud is meant to lighten RvP burden, not replacement. Added on with this untimely announcement, RvP looks to me is fishing for a club with to bid for him. |
