The honour should be given to the guy who owns both 2.0 NA & 1.6 turbo....any one second my motion?
*
Not sure who is that "guy" hmm.gif but based on my opinion, the honour should go to the owner which is most "Active" and frequently sharing most knowledge/experience in 408 forum, no? Those that came in to my mind would be:

- SKYjack
- Jfcheong
- kejusan

With the information provided by them, it has helped me to make such decision.

Besides, in that way our rep could share/exchange information with the rest of Peugeot Club Malaysia

This is very true,I don't think I can go back to the NA again! No offense to my NA bros,it's like taking a bite of a forbidden fruit.......hehehe!
Understand how addictive the turbo can be blush.gif

Actually the differences are the acceleration and comfort level on both cars (and some say safety features). 408T has the "kick" while 408 NA cruise comfortably. Overall both cars can reach 180km/hr effortlessly and both are very stable cars indeed thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Side track a bit, I believe there's nothing much to fuss about the NA since the price tag is really strategically position cheaper then the Japs with 5 year unlimited mileage icon_rolleyes.gif

SAAB were expensive, not because of the turbo, but because of the chassis. It is said that carmakers wonder why SAAB is so expensive, until they crash test them. SAAB have very strong chassis.

Anyway, turbodiesels have been around for years. Not much problem there. The problem with turbo is if you use RM30, 20W50 API SG not well known brand for your oil.

Engine leak seemed to be a repeating issue with turbo engines. Be it Pug/VW/Ford.

To all my NA Engine brothers:
So far any leaking issues?

I dont quite understand what ure trying to say. U mean to say the petrol overflowed while you were pumping? Whats 'overfill'?  rclxub.gif
*
I normally fill up until the pump stopped automatically or sometimes + extra RM1-2 petrol once it stopped. How did you overfill ? Trying to understand what actually happen so that we can prevent this from happening in future

Guys,

Any webmaster here? May be we could have Peugeot 408 club or something like http://www.myaltis.com/forum/ to share information and problems faced by owners? And I find it useful whenever I had any issue with my car, those that faced it will advice/recommend what could be the issue and how to go about it.

Isn't it easier to start a thread in Autoworld Peugeot section instead? The community there seems to be always active all the time and you can probably more input as well from other Peugeot owners.
*
I believe sometimes we tend to go off topics. By having dedicated site with sections, it will provide more direct information on symptoms and solution for 408 related topic + chit chat sections separately, no?

www.peugeotclubmalaysia.com should be good too and how much info sharing will depends on owners contribution

Got my new 408 turbo yesterday and i noticed 2 issues. 1st, engine check light is on during driving. But it went off after i drove for about 100km (according to my SA, this is because of "old" fuel in the tank, which i dont really understand what it is NVM, as long as it's back to normal now). 2nd issue is the braking system. I felt strong vibration whenever i pressed the brake. SA told me that my brake pad is still new and vibration will go off once the brake pad and disc brake lining matches. However, after some hard and soft braking for 2 days, vibration is still there... quite disappointed with this. Anyone of you encounter this problem???

I'm confused with the air recirculation button. SA told me that if the light is on, then outside air will flow in. But the user manual say the other way round "pressing this button for recirculation of the interior air". Of course I will follow the user manual for this. Strange thing is I need to press the button (light on) whenever i start the car. Is this how it should be?

I also noticed something weird on the central air vent. When i increase the temperature higher (too cold), the 2nd air vent in the central air vent will blow hot air while the other 2 side vent in the central air vent will blow cold air. Is this normal???

Anyone of you have the same experiences, pls share..... thx
*
Yes, I'm having the same symptoms...not sure if this is a problem with the car or user problem? Whenever I start the car, I will turn the aircon fan speed then press the A/C and air recirculation. This applies to both 408 T and 408 NA. It is definitely very different from Toyota and Honda rclxub.gif

And I will turn the air con fan speed OFF before switching off the engine (following the same way with Japanese car and Proton style blush.gif blush.gif blush.gif )

Was told by my SA, first 2 air vent on the left is control by passenger air con temperature while 3 air vent on the right (driver) side is control by driver air con temperature.

Isn't the air recirculation off by default to prevent CO2 buildup? That way the driver won't feel tired or drowsy as easily as when air recirculation is on. Doesn't the car have a cabin filter to filter out the bad smells?

I know the VW Polo doesn't have it but don't tell me the P408 also don't have a cabin filter?
*
If air recirculation is OFF, then the air con will not be so cool and outside air can come into the cabin?
Still confuse about the air con system. rclxub.gif

I think the temperature reading for air cond is not so accurate ya... agreed with you with japanese car air cond, 24 or 25 degree is quite comfortable already... but for peugeot, i need to turn in down until 21 or 22...

Yup, I normally switch 20 - 22 for Pug while 25-26 on Toyota
Not the same it seems yawn.gif
