Please don't send your myvi to P2 SC for windscreen replacement. They will charge you kaw-kaw for that. FYI, SC do not provide windscreen replacement service. What they do is that your car will be sent to a different workshop for the windscreen replacement, and they will just charge you double for that. Why do you want to send to SC when you can skil the middle person and go direct to windscreen shop? Also, your $300 cover may not be enough. I asked a shop last week and they quote me $300++. you may need to top up a bit for the workmanship, but I can guarantee you its wayy cheaper than what P2 quoted.

Another thing, you might be unlucky because nowadays insurance companies have tighten the procedures for windscreen replacement. These days, you need to do a police report in addition to the insurance cover note, car grant, ic and driving license. Not the normal police report, but traffic police where the accident took place.

Worst is that, the company no longer allow workshop to take the pictures themselves, only the company staff are allowed to take the windscreen before and after photos. Really sohigh rules these days. But thats probably just me.

Mine is AmInsurrance (Ambank). The new rule was told to me by the mechanic doing my windscreen. He told me a lot of insurance companies are doing this procedure due to rampant claims for windscreen. Obviously, they're just adding more beurocracy and procedure to make it difficult for us to make claims. Yea, Takaful seems to be doing this kind of procedure as well, but don't quote me on this. Visit any windscreen workshop and ask them about insurance claims. If they can do it for you, they should know what requirements are needed for your particular insurance company.

Personally, I might just consider leaving the cracks for now if I were you. It doesn't look too serious or large. The tint actually helps to prevent the crack from growing bigger, but it will be if you often bump into potholes and follow big lorries too close. Speeding shouldn't be a problem since outside wind pressure doesn't harm the windscreen integrity. If you must know, car windscreens are made to withstand quite big amount of pressure from the front due to its convex shape on the outside. Its weakness is in fact from the inside. A slight bump to the head will easily crack your windscreen. Heck, my 4year old son cracked my 2.0L car just by bumping his melon to it.

tongue.gif I am more concern on your nephew/niece condition.
Joke aside.. The cracked (my car) is from outside but didn't penetrate through. The cermin feels smooth in the inside. And I drive average 180km/h before this.. need to consider the speed.

Thanks for the heads up.

More question: Will the crack get longer/bigger if the car is always park under the sun?

Myvi can meh 180km/h?
Borrow my friends one habis habis tekan pun 170 je, tu pun lepas beberapa minit...if not forever 160

I always fetch my mom+siblings to and fro.. so the sosej given is for their safety. If me alone then I won't give sosej too I guess.

What is the diff between double layer windscreen and single layer?
*
Single layer - when it crack, it explode
Double layer - when it crack, another layer will protect it from explosion

Single layer happened to me on highway when I drove 110km/h, true story.

Oi sayang ntan payung.. although I am also a noob.. I do know Single layer or double layer meant the type of windscreen you have installed in your car.. Not as the way to describe how the windscreen exploded tongue.gif
