Sorry. My mistake there. I thought i was replying in the general credit card thread then sweat.gif

Anyhow, do you have any other card from other bank besides OCBC ? SenQ does provide 0% EPP for quite a few banks.

i have SCB. but SCB also they say not provide 0%. Hmmmm .....

Hmm... that's weird. I remembered seeing Standard Chartered on their 0% EPP list in their brochure just about a month ago.

I tried to register ASTRO and TM as registered payee. But it always fail and return message said that the service is not available (16).

Do you encounter this?

Try again later tonight. Probably just some problems with their system now.

I am currently working in Singapore earning around S$2500 (RM6000++) for almost 4 years.
Currently I have Home Loan with Maybank with prefect payment record(in fact I have overpaid my loan since I have alot of $ in the bank).
My loan started in 2010 (25 years loan) but up till now I had cleared 5 years. That means even though if I'm jobless now, i don't have to pay any monthly loan until 2015. I also have Maybank CC (Amex Gold card2card) and of course also with perfect record and my outstanding now is in negative balance because of the 5% rebates.
However, my application for the OCBC Titanium card was rejected for unknown reason. I try to appeal it by calling the telemarketing agent and they did try to appeal for me but the results was unsuccessful. The agent told me because I did not meet the bank guidelines.
I really don't understand. Anyone here know the reason?

Some Bank CS told me they calculate base on S$2500 = RM2500 but that also doesn't makes sense. How about if I am working is Japan and I am earning 150000 yen (around RM6000++)? Don't tell me also 150000 yen = RM150000? It will be a joke.
This kind of comparison (S$1=RM1) only works for these two currencies pair.

Some of the reasons i can think of as to why they rejected your application for the OCBC TMC:
- You've been working in SG for close to 4 years but your monthly salary is only around S$2,500. Of course it's quite a lot if you convert it to MYR but then, they probably deduct S$1,000 from your salary. Probably they assumed that you'll need at least S$1,000 to pay for your room rental in SG, transport, foods and some basic necessities. So, that leaves you only S$1,500. S$1,500 is still quite a lot but then, you already have a credit card from Maybank and there is also a loan account that you need to pay off for 25 years. This is very likely to be the reason why you failed OCBC internal credit test score.

Hi CHAS,

Does it mean that my CCRIS score is very low now base on my situation? Honestly now I am very comfortable with my financial position, even so, they rejected my application. I even suggested to place an FD for a secured credit card but the CS said is no longer applicable. So, there is absolutely no way I can get the card ? Any suggestion or advise ?
Not your CCRIS. If you have never missed a payment to your credit card account and the loan account, then your CCRIS is perfectly fine. Just that probably OCBC sees that you have enough commitment, which is why you failed their internal credit test score. Anyway, you may try to appeal once again and tell them you d not mind a ver very low credit limit, say RM3,000. If they still don't don't approve it, then I suggest you to send in a fresh application again 6 months later.

Can I just email them the form together with my payslips to apply? This is the correct email add right? The online application is just a form for us to fill our phone num for them to contact us. And their nearest branch to me is quite a distance. sad.gif

I just reloaded my mobile phone number through DiGi website using my mom's OCBC TMC but I actually keyed in my name instead of my mom's as the cardholder's name. Surprisingly it went through! ohmy.gif

By the way, DiGi online reload supports VbV & MasterCard SecureCode. I guess when it redirected me to OCBC system, it didn't actually cross check the billing address or the cardholder's name I entered doh.gif

Should I appeal ? Kinda waste my time. Need to fax them some more. Can't email doh.gif

Last time I made the appeal on behalf of my mom through email (of course the email account belongs to my mom). In fact, I didn't submit any appeal letter. I just asked them to review the decision made and told them I am well aware what a great card this is and I don't mind a super low credit limit. And those guys at OCBC credit card department sure are fast. My mom received a verification call from them just 1 hour later. We found out the next day through OCBC hotline that her application has been approved rclxms.gif

Yes. You can. Please refer to the IBG thread.

And how about your total credi cards limit ? That could pose a problem as well. Anyway, most of us have perfect CCRIS record too but all were rejected on the first round.

credit card limit, 3 x of your salary per card ?
*
No. I mean the total credit card limit you have now > Bank A gives you RM10,000, Bank B gives RM15,000 and Bank C gives RM6,000. So the total credit limit of all your credit cards now stand at RM31,000. This total credit limit can also be a problem when applying for more credit card.

OMG! You were supposed to get RM30 out of this payment but now it's RM0. I'll be very frustrated too. As a matter of fact, similar thing happened to me just last month. I actually overpaid my mom's Astro twice! Yeah, not once but twice! And I have actually maxed out the 5% cash back when I made the 2 extra payments to Astro!! doh.gif

QUOTE(KTCY @ Oct 8 2012, 12:47 PM)
Now I know why I got rejected already.
They (OCBC fellow) are rejecting your application if your first card / credit limit is way below their requirement.

Eg :  if your first card is 5k credit limit. Take the 5k divide by 3 (making assumption that the credit limit is 3 times your salary) and you will have there about 1.5k. And 1.5k x 12 = RM 18k per annum, definitely REJECT

And I find it stupid. First card in life, and fresh graduate, expect to have 20k credit limit ? sleep.gif

Anyway, that's how they evaluate and how they approve your card.
And CCRIS even clean also won't help anything. Even you provide 3 months pay slip also they won't evaluate you using the payslip. That's what I had been told tho. They will still refer back to your credit limit per card !
*
How sure are you of the information given above ? Because somehow it doesn't really make sense. Besides, my first credit card has more than RM20k limit but they still rejected my application. I reapplied approximately 6-month later and this time I specifically stated the limit I wanted and my application was approved 2 days after I faxed in my application form and all the supporting documents. The credit card limit for this OCBC TMC is very low, the lowest among all the credit cards I have now. But it's not really a problem as I usually use up to only RM1,000 a month.

I wonder there should be a list that show which shop or branches categorized as 5% discount or 1% disc. Seem like ocbc not really transparent to cc users
*
Problem lies in the credit card processing terminal merchant code. I don't expect any store to display their credit card processing terminal merchant code though. Most average joes on the street don't even know what it is anyway. Besides, there is also no rule requiring them to do so.
