So, I noticed that Sygic has no official thread here. I happen to use Sygic also, currently at version 11.2.6 and thru threads of other GPS software like Papago, I've read there are other users of this too.

So hopefully we users can contribute our experiences of Sygic with this thread.

For one, even on my single core Xperia Arc LT15i, the GUI is buttery smooth including panning and resizing of maps. Seems like it has very good engine for displaying its graphics. The user experience in terms of this is excellent.

I can also see alot of options cos it has many menus, but are intuitive enough even for users who don't use all the features. I've been straying routes unintentionally and the rerouting computation is very fast to get me back on track.

Upon purchase of map(s), activation code is provided so I suppose it can be installed on any Android phone you own or will ever own, it is not tied to a single device. It has been mentioned also that in the final version 12.1 the application license will be linked with your Google account.

It has been pointed out on other threads that the Malaysia map is not always updated (compared to GPS softwares tied with MFM like Papago), but as I've read the upcoming version 12.1 would include update to Sygic Singapore and Malaysia (12.1 is already out for Sygic for iOS, but since I have no Sygic for iOS I dunno the difference).

So I do hope that when version 12.1 comes up, we get the sought after updated Malaysia map.

Map updating process is described HERE.

The software is freely downloadable from android market / Play Store.

As I have read, it works full for 7 days trial so users can test it.

After that, what needs to be paid for continued use, is your desired map(s).

I saw "Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia" map bundle is USD 43 now (RM 132), though I have encountered instances before that they reduce the price sometimes as promotion.

Hi. I am not sure what happens after 7 days, maybe the program will say "Activate Me" and won't run? If you have tried let us know.
