When I moved from Melbourne to Singapore in 2007, I used Jetta to carry my non-fragile, non-essential items back from Melbourne. 4 big boxes, more than 200KG in total. Cost me about AU$350 there, and about S$100 in Singapore, to pay the freight agent commission here (I don't want to do it myself, very tedious. But you can if you got a whole day to spare). Took about 7 days to arrive. Jetta came to my place in Melbourne, collected, weighed and billed me on the spot. In Singapore the agent delivered the goods to my door. So door-to-door service.

Make sure you have a manifest (list of items) of what is in your luggage, so the customs don't have to dig through your belongings to see what they want to tax. I just declare I have about $100 of taxable goods, paid S$7 GST for it, but speed things up by a week or so.

If I asked DHL, TNT to do it, it would have cost me more than $2000.

Another time, long long time ago, Melbourne to KL (in 2003 I think), I also shipped about 450KG (me and my GFs stuff. Students then). 7 big boxes. Cost me about A$250 then. Did the customs formalities myself. Took the whole day in KLIA cargo terminal going between the freight forwarder office and queueing at Kastam. Hot and smelly place, won't do that again.
