You mentioned you have a few products at home, is it laptop or hardware? I think their hardware is better than their laptop / mobile devices..

I had an Asus laptop purchased in 2009, sold it to a friend in 2010 and it is still working even until today, and no warranty / repairs had to be done whatsoever. Haven't had any recent experience with Asus products as this thread alone makes me TRIPLE-think every time I'm just beginning to consider an Asus product. rclxms.gif

Your cousin's laptop was over warranty period already, right? If yes, then most likely the charges will be high since motherboard replacement is not cheap. And also, Asus seems to make everything seem very integrated, and you can't just change individual minor parts, but whole major parts.
