My experience with Asus service center was not a good one either. Sent in my newly bought Nexus 7 2013 for warranty claim because of dead pixel.
Sent in on 18th Nov 2013, and was promise it should be fix within 7 working days, but no news until now.
Called to Asus customer service didn't help much, they only can tell you regarding the repair status on their system saying parts shipment in progress.
They cannot even tell you the estimated time required. Every time I make a call to Asus customer service, that just simply ask you to call back in 5 working days. Hope to get my Nexus back asap.. Finger crossed..

Finger crossed.. Short update, called to Asus customer care line almost everyday and finally I had collected my Nexus 7on 7 Dec 2013 in one peace  . Total RMA journey taken (18 Nov - 7Dec, 18 days ). Frankly, customer service at Lowyat Asus service center was quite good, but not their RMA lead time. They should improve on that.
