Any monopod will do, with or without the 3 legged monopod support feet. And then a good Fluid head on top of that monopod. That fluid head is a must as you can use it on other stuff like tripods, sliders etc.
Any brand should do for starting off. Cheap copy knockoffs actually do a pretty good job to execute the movements/duty of that equipment. You even read about reviewers like cheeseycam saying he almost threw away a Glidecam (a very good stabilizer) because he was frustrated figuring out how to balance the damn thing.
I'm using a cheap copy of the glidecam known as flycam. Pain in the ass to get it perfectly balanced. Easy to shake off what was set because of poor quality build. Have to keep tightening screws on it. But the end results are that the flycam looks way more smoother than without using the thing. It really does reduce footsteps and camera shakes etc.
You do pay for what you get. I mean I do find the more expensive stuff to be more refined and more efficient. But buying the best of everything is very expensive if you don't have the budget. But to me its better to buy the cheaper one and learn how to use it properly. See what it really does for your video and decide whether you want to pay for the expensive upgrade.
I'm self learning by watching youtube, articles and just simply shooting. Just going out there and shooting is the best way.
I see very informative. So which one do you recommend me to get? monopod or glidecam? glidecam is more expensive right?
