Good vid!  biggrin.gif

The lilliput costs rm900. For F&V 7" is RM1000. but i think Lilliput much better.
Yeah, mattebox is damn expensive,so does follow focus.  laugh.gif

How much and where you ordered the follow focus?
*
Well, china products are booming nowadays!. Lilliput and Ruige are quite reliable stuffs they make smile.gif
Well, then again, a mattebox isn't really that crucial since I dont have any ND filters yet, and I mainly do this as a hobby, and haven't the time to use it to generate some pocket money yet. >.< biggrin.gif

The follow focus is roughly RM2k plus shipping and what nots i guess, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lanparte-LPT-Rig...=item257125c676

Looking good, but If you can machine it, I'd suggest you cut the curve arm at the middle point, and machine it in such a way to make it foldable... so you can have more finer adjustments smile.gif

anyone using D7000 for video? can share your setup/settings?

the AF keeps seeking focus. Is it better to use wideangle prime lens instead?
*
I old school... I'm suing D90! biggrin.gif ...lol...

Kill the AF, go MF all the way! it's the future tongue.gif lol... For beginners, I recommend using any wide angled lens, you'll have lesser 'swaying' motion video capture for an amateur stabilizer rig user... and depending on what you're focusing at, I usually set my focal distance from 1 meter onwards till infinite... even using at 18mm (before crop) is already wide enough smile.gif

Hi people,

I in quest to find the best Continuous Lighting for Videography that is cheap and good. and also Stabilizer. can i have some assist ?
Stabilizer - Depends on you setting. I'd rather invest in Glidecam HD2000 for RM1799 roughly.
*
YA ya ya!!!... although it's on the expensive side, it's definitely worth investing on this to get the perfect balance/dynamic balance... with the ability to fine tune smile.gif

Like this page!! thumbup.gif  HeyaStudioBlog

Interesting DIY la I must say. But for MYR200, I could buy a 2ft slider, better crafted, aviation grade alloy track with a lot more feather sensitive movement (Ok, ter-exaggerated the feather sensitive la)... but it'd save you the time to make your own self, and can have dampening ability too...
Opteka... Proaim... SlideKamera.... google those smile.gif

All in all, not trying to diss you or anything, but great diy mate biggrin.gif

Hi everybody,

I'm planning on buying maybe D Focus Matte Box and Follow focus plus Liliput Monitor. My question is, to anybody here who had experience buying from other country, do you have any problem with custom department? like for example, do they charge you 'import duty' or they hold your package for inspection etc etc???

I'm really concern about import duty as I'm planning to buy around RM5000++++ item. Thanks in advance for your answer. smile.gif
*
Hi there ArtcoreWarlock, usually Malaysia is very one eye closed sorta thing (not a good note either actually lol)

But to answer your question, Followfocus/Rigs/Kits/15-mm Rod systems (for now) is/can be classified under photographic accessories, which is not subject to import tax, but usually if you ship with DHL or UPS, they clear customs very fast.

BTW you got PM'ed smile.gif

it's hard for me to comment as i have never used halogens but based on output this one output around 1000W of light. Each bulb is equivalents to 125W.
Plus it doesn't make the room hot.

Cute diy biggrin.gif lol... but it's still very restricted la, you're lock down to 1/50 to 1/100... before you get interlacing... lol.... or go jalan pasar, ask them to construct an LED litepanel look-alike for you biggrin.gif LOL

QUOTE(ar_zaem @ Aug 1 2012, 10:30 PM)
just want to ask...im using Nikon D90 for recording video and using external condenser microphone for audio.. but when i tried to sync the video and the audio, they seems to be okay at the beginning , but later they started to be out of sync of nowhere... please advise me on this..
*
the reason being is because what you're recording at on board the D90 and what you're recording on the external recorder are in different sample frequencies... the D90 has CRAP audio, lol.. like crap crap.. imagine you're recording the SAME video at 23.967fps and 29.976 fps... by the end of the video, you'll have different length, and the clip will "lari" or not be in sync...

same with audio sample rates, it's like fps for video, for audio it's sample frequency...

what the d90 records at is 11kHz whereas, probably your external recorder is probably recording at 48kHz (Standard common format)... 44.1kHz.. or probably, but unlikely 96kHz....

So you can imagine syncing a 48kHz audio to a footage with 11kHz audio... smile.gif.. one way is you can conform your timeline to be in 48kHz or the same audio frequency as your external, instead of allowing your timeline on your NLE software to conform to your D90's audio sample rate smile.gif

Hope i'm making sense or speaking england... lol tongue.gif

still couldnt understand... coz i just bought my d90 last week.. so im still newbie regarding camera.. what is exactly NLE software?

from what i understand, i need to change the video framerate instead of the audio(external microphone). is that right?
*
OK. just imagine this, D90 sucks at recording video+Audio (but i still love that camera)
NLE= Non Linear Editing Software, a program which lets you edits you videos... eg, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, Windows Movie maker.
You dont need to change your framerate, you have to change your editing software to conform to the audio sample rate of your external recorder.... Imagine this.. Your D90 speaks an Audio Language ABC, your external recorder speaks AUdio Language XYZ... you can't match both audio language together because they are completely different... that's why you get your audio offsync..

You have to set your editing program to Audio Language XYZ so that it can match with your external audio file smile.gif

When shooting movie clips, normally at the beginning of every clip, they will use a wood like object, and then they will called out the clip name , then snap the 2 pcs of wood and it make a sound.

Now only I know why they do that..........hahahahaha
*
It's called a Time Slate or a Clapperboard smile.gif It syncs everything together, plus gives you the scene/take information of that current shoot. smile.gif

But this can be tricky, Camera Spare Parts is subjects to import tax. Thats whats i've been told.
It's Malaysia after all... anyways, it's not tricky, it's how you play with words... Camera spare parts are subject to tax, but if it's listed as a camera equipment/accessory or a photographic equipment/accessory, it should not be subject to taxes, from all the past imports I have. It's a very gray area for now. smile.gif
