So how's this company like? It seems to have people saying good work-life balance on the Jobstreet review, friendly colleagues.

Even the company itself advertise themselves as good work team, friendly, no office politics and so on.

Is this true?

Well, I have been working at here for around 1 year and 5 months.
Overall SI is a good company.

We have R&D team, and Application Support teams, most of our clients are insurance companies.

Most of the people here are very friendly, and I can say there is no office politics at all.

The benefits are OK, but we cannot claim OT. Most of the time you won't have to stay late, depending on which team you are in and client's request.
Increment on salary are quite good, depending on personal performance. On my first year, my leave is 18 days, now it is 20 days. The longer you stay here, more leaves and allowance you can get. you may also get travelling allowance if client requested you to travel to their side (Not too often).

For myself, I have joined both application support team and R&D team. Seniors, team leads, and managers are friendly and willing to teach. I've been doing quite a few projects and learnt a lots. If you really have passion in programming, you may try R&D team.

This company not as good as you see/heard....I went for interview few day ago and the interviewer just being so rude...They will kind of teasing you when you said something wrong and asked a lot of questions that are not relevant to my skills or my experiences. Besides, they are like don't give a shit about the question I asked. Conclusion, this company just very bad!!

The hiring manager (aka interviewer) is rude and played down your skills and experience in order to reduce your salary expectations. Went there interview two years ago.

Dont even work for this company. I worked 3 month and leave. There are a lot of fresh grads was brain-washed by the company as they though work in this stressful environment is normal. It is NOT and my salary now is much higher when I was in there.

U hav to work late even in Chrismast and no OT claim and stressed by ur "senior" if you decline to work hard like them.

The monetary benefits stated are after 12 months. Dont expect any allowances during the first year. Also, EL whether approved or not, they can deduct salary.

Tip, please factored in all your current allowances in your expected salary.

My range isn't that big, just around 4k-6k, I'm not sure how real market out there for my 4 years of experience career.. Pay for now is quite good, I just demand 20% more from my previous salary, and get it.

Others company that I demand 20% all only can offer 10%-15%

from my observation, they're more into in the 'middle' while trying to move into 'life balance'.

since it was based on project, your 'life balance' is rely on how good your team member and your project manager handling the timeline, task distribution and execution.

like my case, i got very good manager and team member, so usually i'm going back home on-time 5.30pm or 6pm. others team sometime will go back 7pm if the submit date is near and many task need to accomplish, but i heard no overnight... meanwhile my previous company, i dont remember how many time i slept under table, OT like mad, financial crysis, until one point i feel like my office was like my second home hell.

looking forward for 2 months how it's going, for now is good

Has been worked 2 years at this comp. sad.gif Overall 5/10. Could not say it is bad, but good for fresh graduate. The working environment not bad. They just did renovation for some sections. The working life is stressful especially R&D and HK team. What I can share to you all was the bonus part. bruce.gif The company not compulsory issue the bonus to all employees. Maybe 4/10 of them will receive. bangwall.gif This might be the reason why the trunover rate high in this company. shocking.gif

Have been here for a year. Yeah, like they said turnover so high, like every month two employee resigning. The company itself was good, they help and motivate their employee but the clients (insurance company in Singapore) are the one so stressing.

1. Bonus twice a year , you can get after your 6months in Company.
2. transportation allowance.
3. No OT pay , but you have to take OT always lols

Hi, Im new in LYN and Software International. I will try to provide some insights that I knw off as a new employer:-

Pros
1. Working hours & culture depends on the department assigned. Some department the staffs go home on time at 5.30pm /6pm. Some required to work overtime.
2. People here are nice & friendly, and very helpful
3. Step by step guidance provided by colleague & immediate superior
4. Benefits is good, 18 days Annual Leave, 16 days MC, medical & insurance card. If you get married or have babies, the company will give a big big angpao too. If family member passed away company will provide a small amount of money
5. My interviewer are very friendly

Cons
1. There is turnover for some department
2. From the rumors, maybe it is about fussy clients
3. Limited food, only got foodcourt, mamak, San Francisco (requires to drive out for variety)

So far that is what I can input...

Not really sure if it's helpful, I just completed my internship recently, was part of their internal project's team.

Overall workload is decent though during my two-months, I didn't see any people resign (for my floor, not sure about other depts) colleagues are friendly but as usual, will feel left out because some have their own circle. My interview was pretty decent as well, except for having to wait nearly an hour for the interviewer. Due to my background (Diploma intern), I had to take more time to learn the programming language they need. But it was manageable, colleagues guided me through it.

My score would be a 6 out of 10

Forgot to add, I had some benefits from the company as well. My two-months internship only got me 15 days ML and 3 days AL. Food wise, very little choice. Mostly Malay food in the cafeteria only one Chinese stall. Have to drive or Grab to eat out. However they only allow for 1 hour lunch time which sucks considering the traffic and waiting time. Parking was a problem as well. Either you park far away (7-10 mins walk) for RM94/month or the multi-level (5 mins walk) for RM150/month (if I remember correctly).

*
This is so true, it's the same situation even now. It only seems normal for the first few weeks and then the true side comes out.

Agreed on the food part.
Can also park at the stadium, about 10 mins walk only. Cost RM2 per entry. Managed to save a lot compared it the nearby parking.

Didn't meant to necro post, however, hope this becomes valuable and relevant to people in 2025:

user posted image

Pros:
- 3 days' work from home.

There are far too many cons in this company to be considered to work here.
If you value time with loved ones, hobbies, good health and market rate salary please avoid this company. Cons:

- Salary is below the market rate, they will lowball your requested qualified market rate offer.
- Increment and their advertised "performance bonuses" are consistently heavily delayed
- Even though "Generous Annual Leave" is advertised, workload is tremendous, and you will find yourself be swarmed with work and overtime after leave, boss will also blame you for delayed releases even though you consistently communicated your leaves MONTHS prior to said leave.
- "Trainings", the given trainings are often your typical HRDF claimable day training program that often takes up one valuable working day. Which is also largely not related to your current project. Due to this, you will find yourself needing to overtime from the reduced 1 working day from the training.
- "E-Learning Platform" are your usual MOOCs like Udemy, that is expected to be completed on your off-office hours. At times courses unrelated to your project can be given to you and you are expected to complete it also in off-office hours else be penalized the price of the full course which is often amount to hundreds of USD.
- On the job training was also not provided, on day one when you joined a team, you were not briefed of your team (so you have to figure out who is who) nor a system design (you have to spend hours deducing the system design from the massive code) of your massive project. You are highly expected to perform immediately or else to be transferred to another project and not given increment after a year of tenure.
- Boss never gave clear constructive instructions over the course of my years of tenure here, instructions are extremely general and vague. If you were to ask for clarifications, boss would often respond with "this is easy only what" and would often result in the conversation being downplayed to you being incompetent. Seniors and your project manager in the same meeting room, when asked what boss meant, they often than not have no clue either.
- Since we're a major software vendor, developers would often expect a form of continuous integration and continuous development tool. However, this was not present in this company's internal codebases. When such tools are raised during meetings. Boss would give a "don't be lazy" respond.
- Boss would often overpromise clients of unrealistic goals to appease them at the cost of developer's health, time with loved ones and mental being.
- Even after renovation and WiFi upgrades, office WiFi still hiccups often and is slower than your usual at home internet speed. You'd think a software house would uphold the importance of ethernet connections.
- Transparency of contract between the client is not present. What was discussed, proposed, scope of work and billing is not transparent.
- Functional specs design was never shown once at my tenure here. Developers are expected to translate WhatsApp-style messages from client into code.
- A bug in production? If the piece of code is written by you, boss expected you to present and cover that block of code in full comprehensive technicality in a PowerPoint style presentation. If you missed some topics, you are expected to present again. All as means of punishment disguised as "knowledge sharing". All of this on top of your existing massive workload. That you had to prepare from overtiming. Extremely exhausting. QA teams are also not present. It's sending a message of issue is not because of a systemic error of the team. But you.
- Last but not least, HR are asked to write up fake reviews. (You can often tell by the generally low effort vague pros and cons)

However, I heard people working in RnD and Prudential team is ok. but from personal opinion only join this company if you are unemployed for months andĀ isĀ desperate.
