Freedom of personal expression is your right, to a certain extent.

So is the employers freedom to choose their new staff.

Its up to how your boss thinks, if the workplace is full of people in rainbow colored mohawk hairstyles, by all means go ahead.

lol...last time i would say yes to whatever they offer...after i work i feel i am so underpaid and unmotivated

then if next time i've been ask this question i sure will tell them ...i demand at least rm2.5k for fresh grad....but after EPF and SOCSO cut also left 2.2k ...oklar for fresh grad

1.I dont have house and car and i am in the middle of saving to own them with low salary this wont be achievable
2. I still have X amount of student loan to repay...if with low salary after i pay for all of this etc stuff i have no saving left. (How am i going to live wont be ask pocket money from parent again?)
3. I work in order to save for my future ...so these are the reason why i demand a higher pay.

these are what i can think of for now...yet my last interview they ask me what criteria am i looking in a job ...i straight say a well paid job. LOL the HR manager also say ya true everyone also looking for one....
*
I hope you do not give the 3 reasons to the employer on why you deserve higher pay.
Employer do not pay you so you can afford to buy a car.
They pay you because you render your service unto them.

What criteria to look for job, also please dont answer "well paid". You are supposed to convince the employer to HIRE you. Say something more useful for your own sake.

You should ask them for the contact email. That makes sense.

if they ask me why, what should i say? because i wanted to send them a thank you letter?

You can always tell them you would like an avenue to follow up on this job as it means a lot to you.

In any case they should be able to decline professionally enough. I hope wink.gif

I got job interview with Maybank under position Account Officer/Account Manager.  The main thing that I'm so nervous about this interview is I have veryl little knowledge about account since I'm business economics graduate. So, any advise on how I can survive this interview?

Thanks!
*
Is that Account as in Accounting debit credit money in money out,
or is it Account as in Client Management?

Most company couldn't care less about your personal developmental activities outside of work scope. They just want you to dedicate your runtime for their benefit.

Being too honest telling my flaws -.-, apparently that is very bad for interviewers but i just want to tell them what i'm bad at before going further.

I guess that's the wrong strategy there.
*
Very often one of the standard question is
"What are your weaknesses?"

It is ok to acknowledge you have a weakness but do put in what current actions you are taking to turn the weakness into an opportunity or something. As advised above, the weakness should be work-related and not your own social life (i cannot find gf sob)

As i know, there is a session where the interviewer will ask us for any questions to them. What is the question that we should ask or not to ask?
(is it the question that we ask will affect our application?) thanks =)
*
i think yearly increments and bonus amounts should be avoided. not many can really tell you.

also depend on who is interviewer, if its HR you can ask about benefits as they are well verse.
if its hiring manager you may ask about team size, dynamics, where is the team headed, whats in store in the near future...

I had just get into 2nd interview today, however for the whole interview section, they didnt touch on about the pay as well as company benefit, and they just said up will have internal discussion den just contact me up if i got the offer.

Is this mean that, i am not getting the chance for the job offer, or there will have another interview for me?
*
Sounds pretty standard, you still have chance for the job. more importantly, was the interview positive in your view? do they seem interested in you?

Q: what is your current salary
A: RM XXXX

Q: I need a copy of your pay slip as well
A: I believe that is confidential
~~~~ objective: To get higher pay ~~~~
will this work...
*
Sure it will. Everyone here will tell you the slip is P&C, so don't ever show it especially to wife/gf
just to share, personally when i am interviewing others, i love to see the face expression and expect calmness when i ask  these questions e.g.:
1. if your current boss provide u a blank cheque and ask u to fill in any numbers just to get hold of u, what would u do?
2. what u think about urself? what do other think about u?
3. our company might not be able to pay u as high in $$$$, but maybe can fit into your requirement to have a challenging environment and guaranteed progressing path. Would u be interested by then?
4. why shall i pay u that amount u requested? brief me.......
Any of you came across such question and how u reacted?  hmm.gif
*
what role is this, and what can you gather from these questions? 3 out of 4 of the above are $$$ matters.
I heard if we wear a spectacle during interview, it will give interviewer an impression that we are smarter, is this true?
*
Yes its true. if you dont wear spectacles it means you are less intelligent.
and if you dont wear a watch it means you do not know how to keep time.
Anyone can explain what's mean by training bond?
*
company send you for training (overseas/local) that costs them money.
they will tell you to stay for X years as a bond for the "investment" they have made on you.
if you quit before the bond period is up, you have to pay them X dollars.
Example, they train you, and bond you 2 years. If you work 6 months and decides to quit, they want you to pay back, say RM30,000 (as stated in the employment contract that you sign).
dont know if this is mentioned before but how many questions are there usually in a face to face interview?
and is it odd that i've just been scheduled for an interview 3 weeks from now?
*
there is no fix number fo questions, they ask what thy need to know to see if you are fit for the job or not.
as for the timing, maybe its because they have cycle based work, and last week of the month+first week of the month is too busy.
