Thanks for the reply. I think im able to answer that question if they ask.

What are the "technical questions" that usually will be asked if you don't mind.  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

I am not in technical line.

this always first in the question.

Not necessary but it is a hot favourite.

The first question is usually, "Tell me about yourself?".

Let's say that job that I want to apply required me to own a car, but I dont have a car, I just have a car license. So, if the interviewer are convinced with my skills but very worried about me not having a car, how should I answer it?
I've been through this question before and I answered them I'll buy a car IF they offer me the job. Somehow, they're not convinced at all. How should I really answer this kind of questions in the future?
*
I plan to buy a car. For the time being I can use my father's car. He is retired.

Hi may I ask if interviewers ask 'do you hv any professional qualification?'and I am currently pursuing my CIMA. Should I say it? I am afraid employers will see it as a burden since the jobs require to work long hours. STudy paper makes u to divide time to study and work.

thanks
*
Sorry, may I ask another question to answer you?

A young guy (my assumption) and smart working in accounting line with no aspiration to take the professional body exam. What you think of him?

Contrast it with a guy who is taking the exam, who will you hire?

There are exceptions. Rules are man made and therefore can be broken. You want to look at exceptions or common practise?

I would like to ask that, beside education history, exam results, and all certificates I got, what other documents or things should I bring?

Should I bring the source codes of my final year project?
There is no other documents that you have not already cover. You actually need to bring your IC but that is already a document that you carry on you all the time. Some companies will ask for passport size photos make sure you have 2 pieces handy at all time.

You may bring along your pride source code if you like. In most cases it is not even required.

What is that mean?

Most of the time people are not interested in things you done in school. School is theory while the labour force out there is the pratical real world. cshong asked if he should bring along his source codes done in the final year project. While he may think it carries a lot of weight, the season programmer out there (his superior) will see is as elementary stuff.

equity should be no problem right? Shares trading?
Futures is about the same thing but technically a big different. It can be a lengthy explanation. google it if you want to know more. Otherwise knowing that it works like shares would suffice as some idea about it.

Not that I wan to change job but you should understand since I said it was my dream job. The tips I gay you was not really new many people use the GMAT type test during interview. So, I really don't know anything about MIDA.

Ya so GP type question but more to engineering industry. If you have answered with only theory then that is whay other fresh graduate will do. Chances not as good. If you answer like you have some working experience then your chances better.

Oh, do people will see people who talk much in a discussion or what they talking about?
*
Of course. You will be evaluated by the quality of what you say. Let's say you know a certain topic well. Can you tell a "tin kosong" when you see one? It is not how long a person can talk. Talk much with empty content shows stupidity. Most people tell you that the longer you talk in interview the better your chances. That is not true. If interviewers have time they dont mind to let the "tin kosong" talk. The more they talk the more they make a fool out of themselves. In the end interviewers got more points to disqualify that person.

Oh! But I just gave and throw my opinion. For example, the question is how the company that we (in a group) established to be listed in the BSKL. What do u think the answer?
*
This question can kill every candidate.
How you expect fresh graduates to know this? A big majority of people working in the equity business don't even know the answer.
Here is where I like to criticize Malaysian exam training method. When in school my teachers taught me. If you don't know the answer try to bullshit your way through. If you write something at least you get some points. I am sure you were also trained that way. Thus the silly assumption that the longer you talk in interview the better your chances.
This question give interviewers a good laugh at the "kuat terberang" and "pakai tembak" type answers. If you are funny enough they will even talk about you during lunch (hey, don't get it wrong: this is being famous/remembered for the wrong reason).
Come now I teach you how to use some brains to "tembak" the question.
1) This is likely regulated by law.
So can just "bantai" only, The Securities Act had stipulated guidelines for these.
2) Surely, there must be an approving authority. If not FM who else, "tembak" again.
Companies that made the requirement will need the approval of the Finance Minister before they get listed on the BSKL.

The accurate answer
1) The Business Rules of BSKL had listed guideline for listing into their exchange.
2) The Securities Commission will be the regulating body that approves such application for listing in the BSKL.

The "tembak" answers I gave you is good enough already. Like I said most people in the equity business also can't give that answer. If you want to do more list some of the requirements like must have a profit of 5 million for the past 5 years. More of this you can find in BSKL site.

By the way the "tembak" with brains is not wrong.
1) The Securities Act endorse the existence of the BSKL Business Rules. Without The Securities Act, the Business Rules is not enforceable.
2) Ultimately the Finance Minister have the final say because the Securities Commission is under the purview of the Finance Minister. But the Finance Minister had more important stuff like the nation's economy to handle than to look into one company listing into the exchange. It still requires FM's signature before a company can be listed. Basically if the Securities Commission approve the FM will just sign.

Wah! So detail explanation. I'm curious y u not being chosen instead of me. I act know nothing about those BSKL or what so ever.
*
Something you don't seem to understand.
I told you I am in equity right. BSKL = Bursa Saham KL. Equity = Saham. I am in the same industry that is why I know the answer.
I also told you when I was a fresh graduate many years ago that was my dream job. That was long ago. It is not my dream job now. I did not apply how to be chosen.

By the way not many engineering students will take the trouble to know BSKL stuff. It wont be that bad since most candidate for the interview were engineering boys. For that matter even if they take finance students, I think they will not get the answer. Finance books don't cover how to list in BSKL or NYSE.
SO unless you "terberang" until you made a fool out of yourself, you still have a chance for the job. If nobody comes close to the answer, they should he selecting the one with highest GPA.

You did not tell me there is a written test and group discussion.
In that case highest score in their test had the best chances.
For group discussion they looking at your team spirit (you team player or "bolot")
Unless there is a facilitator for each group to monitor and record everything.
