afaik battletag is used within blizzard globally, does not restrict to any region/game.

great.

so i read earlier we can switch between servers but character won't be xfer here n there

for example. demon hunter on US server will not be in SEA server when i log in to SEA server

is it true?

Added on May 10, 2012, 3:58 pm1) IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY DIABLO 3 DEVELOPERS THAT THE GAME ITSELF IS REGION FREE, MEANING THAT ALL COPIES OF THE GAME CAN BE ACTIVATED ON NORTH AMERICAN (NA) SERVERS/ EUROPE (EU) SERVERS / SOUTHEAST ASIA (SEA) SERVERS *IF THERE IS ONE*
- Side Note: In actual fact, SEA players will automatically have their region set as NORTH AMERICA by default.

2) ONCE YOU ACTIVATE THE GAME ON YOUR SELECTED REGION, YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE REGION UNLESS YOU CAN PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION TO BLIZZARD THAT YOU HAD A CHANGE OF ADDRESS.

3) THE AUCTION HOUSE IS CONFIRMED TO BE LOCKED TO THE REGION WHICH YOU ACTIVATED, MEANING THAT IF YOU ACTIVATED ON NA, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BUY/SELL ITEMS ON SEA SERVERS.

4) I WILL ADD MORE INFORMATION HERE ONCE MORE DETAILS ARE RELEASED~

so if i actived my d3 on SEA server tat means i can't access US server?

check the RMAH FAQ in the first page (2nd post).
That's the latest info on D3 that we have so far.
Characters will be on the servers you created them on. Your example is correct.

The only limitation on RMAH is based on your BNet acc address.
Malaysia is grouped with US RMAH and the full list of RMAH (currencies) that you can buy/sell in is in the 2nd post as well.

correct me if im wrong. when u buy the game, there is no such thing as us version, europe version, asia version and etc etc. u only got 1 version and that is GLOBAL VERSION. it does not matter wher u buy from, it is still only GLOBAL VERSION with both pc n mac compliant. now once u install the game u can choose which region u play and im pretty sure you can switch between regions but of course characters are not transferable(not for now at least, blizz is famous for making money, so they might allow in the future). meaning if u got character A in us server, u feel like goin asia server, you can go but u need to make a new character.

as for AH, u would have to choose in battlenet, whether to play with gold or RMAH. as for us SEA players we r automatically align to US servers. hence im pretty sure we can use the RMAH. now if ur fr japan,china, hk,korea n etc, u will b align to asia server and RMAH is not available upon launch.

hope this clear things up smile.gif

this just in
http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/di...global-play-faq

it will answer all your questions.

basically if u play in US server and have a lvl 10 barb with epic items, ur char and items are only available in US server/RMAH.

and when u switch to EU server, assuming it's ur first time switching to EU server, you will have 0 char and 0 items. you can't transfer your toons and items from US server.

so all the char/items/RMAH on each server is independent and doesn't inter-cross with each other.

EDIT: ehhh silap...haha!
RMAH is only based on your Home Region which depends on your BNet Address.
if your home is US server and u login to EU server, u won't be able to see RMAH anymore until you change back to US server.

and which is the cheapest starter package?

since the game can be downloaded so what we purchase is just a serial number right?

if just a serial number curious can we just buy from official website online?

2 ways to buy this.
1) CD Key only, you can purchase the digital version from blizzard directly. and it will register into your battlenet account that you have that game already, complete with the CD key. then you need to download the installer from blizzard, install it, and wait for the launch date.

2) u buy the retail box, inside contains the DVD (more or less the same installer you can download from blizzard's site) and CDkey which you need use it to register with your battlenet account. install the game with the DVD, update it, then play.

CD Key, Box , Manual, some Guest Pass, some promo materials
Price differ due to distributors and country of residence of your battle.net
eg.
if your b.net address
US --> USD 59.99
Singapore, Malaysia --> SGD90
Australia, NZ --> AUD 70

Yes you can go green and just buy the CD Key from Battle.net

Diablo III Global Play FAQ
With Battle.net®’s Global Play functionality, you’ll have access to Diablo® III game servers in regions outside your own, making it easy to play with your friends in other parts of the world.

In general, you’ll be playing in your “home” game region, defined as follows:

The Americas for players in North America, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia
Europe for players in the European Union, Eastern Europe, Russia, Africa, and Middle Eastern countries such as Israel and the United Arab Emirates
Asia for players in South Korea and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau
