QUOTE When your application is not licensed under either the GPL-compatible Free Software License as defined by the Free Software Foundation or approved by OSI, and you intend to or you may distribute MySQL software, you must first obtain a commercial license to the MySQL product.
Typical examples of MySQL distribution include:
* Selling software that includes MySQL to customers who install the software on their own machines. * Selling software that requires customers to install MySQL themselves on their own machines. * Building a hardware system that includes MySQL and selling that hardware system to customers for installation at their own locations. i got now, seems like not free on MYSQL my intention is develop webpage (localhost) with MySQL, Apache HTTP Server and PHP for retail shop, to check product detail only. So in this situation consider comercial use?

Sphenix, If I am correct, during the development, the license is still under GPL. Once the program go to the client (3rd party), the client need the license, unless your program is under the GPL too. If for in-house development, I have no 100% sure on the licensing issue. Perhaps you can find out and share with us Cheers

If it will be hosted on a Windows Server, you need Client Access License for it you know. You may want to look at External Connector to save cost (although expensive also).

Sphenix, Just got the answer from MySQL support. For in-house development and usage, the MySQL is free. So, just have fun with that. Happy Coding & 2006

Sphenix, As long as within the same company, it is consider as in-house developed software. If this program goes to 3rd party and you charge for a fee, then you need to get the license for it. Cheers
