If u are using win xp or vista sp2 or older, u need to patch ur tcpip.sys half open limit allow accept more connections, if u did the patch, or using windows 7,and if ur torrent seed and peer healthy but still slow like that, u need a VPN to completely bypass TM's p2p throttle

From what I know, ISP will throttle so after a using a while you should notice that your internet speed will decrease (even when stop using torrent).

What you need to do is just to reconnect your internet connection regularly, for example once every 2 or 3 hours, or just when you notice that internet is slowing down.

For me sometimes it get as low as 20kbps speeds after prolonged use (whole night long) and I will have to reconnect to get it up again.

when searching and downloading torrents always get high seeded torrents if there is no seeders you will never finish the download no matter how many leechers there are..

- seeders are people who have already downloaded the file and are uploading them the more seeders the faster the download will go

- leechers are people who are sharing what they have and are downloading what you have

Ah forgot about this one lol. One of the most basic. Look at the seeders and leechers available, if there's like 10 seeders, and 1,000 peers be ready to wait lol.

Do let us know what connection you are using too.
Connecting to too many peers/seeders is not good on slower connections.

Added on May 5, 2012, 3:40 pmYou should also consider stopping and resuming torrents. If you are unlucky, you might be connected to slow seeders/peers who have slow net or limited their speed to 1kbps.

Sounds ridiculous but my friend did just that some 8 years back (the limit uploading speed at 1kbps) tongue.gif

Normally I do not recommend using mobile broadband since it is every1 sharing the same connection point. I don't know how good their facilities are, but what you should consider is not the max speed, but the minimum speed. Even if they can support 10,000kbps but there are 100 people downloading at the same time, don't expect it to be far from 100kbps. (Just an example)

I normally prefer land(cable) connections. If you're lucky your mobile broadband will be many times faster than land. But when you're unlucky, you might be cursing YES 4G lol.

I suggest you to use any mobile broadband with moonlight vpn, u will get unlimited speed with no throttle. Search moonlight VPN thread at Service Noticeboard forum.

Old golden day, streamyx can do torrent but i don't think nowadays you can torrent with streamyx. Futhermore, i heard that TM reduced bandwidth for streamyx in order to get people suscribe Unifi.

If your place got Unifi, go suscribe unifi.
If don't, then use mobile broadband with moonlight vpn.

Just an correction.
Since Vista SP2, windows will automatically manage half open connection.
It means patch is not needed any more.

Thx for the correction, I wasn't sure which vista sp they removed half open limit, I'm already using win7 since rc,

Thx again for correction, so TS do not need tcpip patch
