EDIT: unless music player can now select which folders to scan rather than contents in 1 single folder.

*
there's other media player that can do the job, so it's not an issue. media player like PowerAmp is able to play your loss-less files.

i would always go for internal disk space when the price difference is not much.

y? bcz the internal memory always performs better than micro SD cards.

micro SD is quite fast, never had any lag yet

media files usually ok.. try put in heavy apps, then the performance might be slower. depends on the class.

all the features u mentioned we are discussed previously ady. plus many other more. u just go back and dig out one by one.. brows.gif

i think sammy is masterminding a global invasion, therefore the crazy 200million sales lol einstein was also crazy right ? lol
*
but but.. only works with other s3.. cry.gif

many of my friends having s2 wont be considering upgrading to s3. will be a hard time to poison them to change.. brows.gif must put extra dose of poison liao..

he is saying that most siri users don't use siri and shareshot would be disappointing feature also

I hope it doesn't disappoint me though,
btw any info regarding group cast ? I wonder how it functions
*
most of the users in malaysia dont use siri for a few reasons:
1) their english is not fully recognisable by siri
2) limited functions as those functions like finding restaurants and stuff are not available locally YET.

therefore, without those features above, siri can only be use for simple note taking, setting alarm, search web, or just simply simple chit chat, just like any other android's voice command.

and i tried using siri before, it didn't recognise my english as good as using google/android's own voice detection, hit rate is lower.

as for the group cast, all the users must be within the same wifi network, not wifi direct, in order to function.

Are we still able to use SIII when DIGI LTE comes out? As I have noticed in US, they would need to get a variant version as international board does not support US LTE
*
y not? just use their 3G. i doubt their LTE is mature enough to last for the whole life span of the S3. Probably when the LTE network in malaysia is mature enough for consumers, it's probably the era of S4 or S5 ady.

So, just enjoy your S3 with HSPA+ until LTE is ready.

ok, my statement seems confusing bit. i rephrase. S3 international variant doesn't come with LTE, and even Digi is able to provide LTE, i still don't see the need of it yet until it's matured enough. Hence the statement of enjoy the HSPA+ with S3 until LTE is mature enough to be used with other future phones.

i saw some review about the voice to unlock the s3... anyone know how it works ???

i really dono how this voice unlocking work myself.

do u have to press something before saying "hi, galaxy". If u need to then unlocking feature is just a little bit of a gimmick, coz u need to finger your phone anyway.

the phone has been out in uk for like 3 days already, and nobody has paid any freaking attention to detail when uploading those youtube videos.

attention to detail please somebody. don't give freaking summary overview shitty review. i have already viewed a dozen of those.
*
yes, u need to wake up yr sound in order for it to detect your voice.

well.. i think the reasoning behind this is because you don't it to randomly wake when u don't need it.

as u say u need to finger the phone anyway, that's partly correct, as u wake the phone, u can straight activate the S-voice to do anything u want it to do. will be useful when u are not able to look at the screen to choose which app u want. like when u drive, u just wake the phone and then continue to drive and use yr voice to command it.

Edgeless design is what I thought/wanted after seeing S3 for the first time  sweat.gif

If I was Samsung CEO I would've went for that  laugh.gif
*
the S3 has very thin bezel ady, kinda near to edge to edge.

i think one problem will arise from edge to edge is that you wont have enough space to grip yr phone and might end up accidentally touch the screen with the side of yr finger.

can i just clarify:
so after i finger the home button with one single press, i can terus give a command like "i wanna take a picture", without saying "hi, galaxy" first? meaning waking up the phone by one press of the home button automatically put you into "S Voice" mode where he will listen to you command? like that?

Thanks.
*
i believe u will have to activate S-Voice first via "hi galaxy" or any other commands that u set. then proceed with "Open Camera"

however, launching a camera directly from lockscreen will be faster.

activating S-voice via lockscreen will be useful to launch other apps or note taking or phone calling/sms

if u ady activate via voice, then no need to touch the mic icon.

these are all based on my observation over different demo videos.

Verify this information! But it is likely to be true  Serious implications here.
But less than 3 years?
Resale value of s2, tab7.7 will drop like a sack of rocks.

Kimchi product philosophy is short life time, chge always.
*
OLED is known for it's shorter life-span.

it takes around 10,000+ hours to reach 50% original brightness when compared to conventional LCD which has about 20,000-30,000+ hours to reach 50% original brightness.

but Samsung's SAMOLED has achieve longer life span with their technology to come close to LCD.

10,000+ hours equates to around 5yrs of usage with 8 hours daily screen on time.

what u mean? after 10k hours OLED will produce display of 50% of the original brightness. u mean the longer i use my OLED display the dimmer it gets? u telling me the quality of OLED display diminishes over time? incredible.
*
dude, everything in this world degrades over time. yr OLED will, yr LCD will, yr battery even worse, even your age and your health will degrade over time. what so incredible?

how does this AMOLED degrading actually works???

i often uses half brightness on my phone... in this case will it improve the life span of my AMOLED ??? Or it will actually be the same as long as I have my screen on regardless of the brightness level ????
*
simple.. everything in this world has its lifespan. the electronics suffer even worse when it comes to lifespan.

take for example of your florescent light bulbs that u use in your house. how often u need to change it? the capacitors u used in your motherboard also has it's lifespan from 30000hours to 100000 hours. depending on the type and quality/grade.

same goes to the LCD panels or OLED/AMOLED. it will have it's lifespan too. manufactures quantify the lifespan with various method. like the one i mentioned, the time takes for it to reach 50% of original brightness is one of the method to quantify the lifespan.

batteries also use similar method to quantify. after a year, battery will have around 70% of their original charge and then maybe 50% after second year. battery life can be reduced over time, or thru charging cycles.

using lower brightness on yr phone will definitely prolong the life span bcz it's operating in a lower current and lower temperature as well. Temperature is what kills electronic component the most (not forgetting current), hence u see the importance of using cooling facilities such as heat sink fan.

btw, i read somewhere that s3 has 6 sensors on the phone. anybody have details on that?
*
yes.. like wat i posted previously about it's advantage over other smartphones that is has more sensors.

Sensors Accelerometer, gyro, RGB sensor, proximity, compass, barometer

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9300_galaxy_s_iii-4238.php

but gsmarena left out the pressure sensor and some details. which can be found here.

Sensors:

Accelerometer:
STMicroelectronics - LSM330DLC 3-axis Accelerometer
Magnetic Field sensor:
Asahi Kasei Microdevices - AK8975C 3-axis Magnetic field sensor
Orientation + Gravity + Linear acceleration + Rotation
STMicroelectronics - iNemoEngine
Light & Proximity sensor:
Capella - CM36651
Gyroscope
STMicroelectronics - LSM330DLC Gyroscope sensor
Pressure:
