QUOTE(Lucius <3 @ May 10 2012, 10:30 AM)
I am just wondering, I read somewhere before this that the reason why manufacturers are not including SD slot is because of phone performance. They claimed that it will slow down the phone performance. How true is that i'm not sure. Is adding 64gB sd card a good idea?
*
I doubt it.. Maybe mediascanner will be a bit longer though wink.gif

Mid June. At least by that time, we will have dozen of video reviews!

S3 seems like the back cover will easily scratch
*
We'll have to see how the scratch resistant hyperglaze claimed by Samsung stands then. Mind you it's not scratch PROOF biggrin.gif

QUOTE(tommyfai @ May 10 2012, 11:46 AM)
how about the data consumption on the galaxy s2 ? i guess this S3 may use even more data since have new features and others..

perhaps 1GB enough ? Besides streaming youtube.
*
You can always limit data consumption in ICS. There's a feature for that thumbup.gif

QUOTE(silentser @ May 10 2012, 12:52 PM)
i think for once, i dont want to go to custom rom after getting this phone, seeing so much feature they put into the phone.

the camera sharing we will test it when we do our first gaythering kay?
*
Going for AOSP custom rom is like a downgrade for SIII, lesser features, and not to mention the possible bugs. It's just like a normal SII if one is to put AOSP on SIII laugh.gif

QUOTE(waveweaver @ May 10 2012, 01:15 PM)
I believe that stain (espcially all over the edge) comes by using cheapo dark casing  o_O
*
it's from the person's blue jeans to be exact. Well, we don't have to worry that for SIII flex.gif

Adding sdcard slot is a very good idea. Just dont put any corrupt files/images/music/videos inside your sdcard. Otherwise your phone will keep on scanning for a long times...
*
btw just wanna ask.. since the phone comes with such a huge storage, how do we know which file is corrupted? Is there a way to check?

corrupted file is not an issue. It is corrupted memory cards. Caused most often by removing memory cards halfway while transferring data, and not properly safely unmounting before removing card.

i broke your heart ==?
Anyway for me S.Voice is about the same features like Siri ,
But it depends on yourself , did u really like to talk with your phone while you need to check / do somethings ?
What i meant is SIRI for 4S is main features , while S.Voice isn't main feature of SIII .
*
True, but it is able to integrate with 3rd party apps which Siri is not capable off. That might be an edge. I still feel awkward talking to my phone tongue.gif , maybe others will do so (eg. cooking/driving while telling the phone to do sth)

for me this screen degrading information is an extra knowledge good to learn and know about

but it shouldn't be a factor in deciding your purchase.

you might probably sell the phone before the first signs of degrading take place
*
the blue tint has shorter lifespan than the red and green pixel. Which is why the bluish tint on AMOLED display as the blue tint will get lesser/weaker throughout the lifetime of the AMOLED display.
But all this AMOLED degradation is not sth to worry about because
1. Manufacturers are constantly improving it to compensate for that
2. We'll change our phones before the lifetime actually ends (way way longer).

my daily display time about 3-4 hours. i charge my s2 whenever i want, usually during my idle time, about 6x daily.
i doubt many can use as much as me.

True. Unless that person is playing with his phone throughout his 8hrs of work laugh.gif

GSMArena's comparison:
Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III vs. HTC One X: Alien vs. Predator

Quite a lousy comparison for some areas if you ask me laugh.gif
I LOL the moment I see Beats Audio as an advantage for One X over SIII

I din see the writer refer the Beats Audio an advantage here.

I only see the writer mentioned S-Beam and Direct Call an edge over One X...  doh.gif

But I like the writer mentioned it feels more premium and better when holding the One X over S3.

QUOTE(VerdictReview @ May 12 2012, 10:07 AM)
What does it mean "Brighter IPS LCD2 screen with a full set of subpixels"?
*
Take a look at this picture, it shows the displays of SIII and One X under a microscope:
user posted image

You'll notice the following:
1. SIII's Pentile display has a RGBG pixel arrangement (Red-Green-Blue-Green)
2. One X's display has a RGB pixel arrangement (Red-Green-Blue)

On the Pentile screen, each green sub-pixel shares a red and blue sub-pixel with another green sub-pixel.
This makes it having lower pixel density compared to the SLCD2 in One X.

Regarding the brightness, since LCDs do not produce light themselves, they require a backlight.
Amoleds on the other hand require no backlight as each pixel produces its own light.
LCDs have backlight on even when displaying black colour but the pixel in Amoleds just switches off, hence the deep black. This results in higher brightness/nits in LCDs displays.

I could be wrong here, correct me in case there're mistakes, especially on the brightness which I'm not so sure biggrin.gif

QUOTE(farscope @ May 12 2012, 10:56 AM)
i agree on that.. but glad to see the camera performance is better with less noise. htc only wins when it comes to lower light with advantage of F2.0

finally have some feedback regarding the battery life and it didn't disappoint. Man, 10 hours of video play back.. that's tablet level battery life yo!  drool.gif
*
Yeah, looks like the energy-efficient Exynos and extra battery capacity really play a big part here. Especially during video playback shocking.gif
