Yes, for a washer dryer. It's condensing the moisture present in the clothes which needs to drain out. To be sure check the manual.
For a condenser dryer or the more efficient heat pump dryer, there is a storage cassette which needs to be emptied out or optionally the drain pipe in which case what you describe should happen.
For a vented dryer, the hot moisture laden air needs to be vented out which means it would be placed in a balcony or ducted to a vent to the outside.
There is another type, gas dryer. Using heat from flame combustion to dry off the cloth. Not common in Malaysia household but more for commercial/industrial use. In the US, gas dryer is very common since it uses less electrical energy. Workflow similar to the conventional vented dryer. Instead depending on heater element only, flame is produced to speed up the drying process. Result : Quick drying process, save water and save electricity. I found only one brand that brings in gas dryer to Malaysian household market, and only selected store selling it.For a condenser dryer or the more efficient heat pump dryer, there is a storage cassette which needs to be emptied out or optionally the drain pipe in which case what you describe should happen.
