Just call Hyundai Careline and have a long chat with the customer service. Asking him my order que number and others concern issues that everyone bring out. He told me that now they received orders of 2XXX Elantra which pending to supply. Normal waiting for Ceramic White, Phantom Black, Sleek Silver and Clean Blue should be 2 to 3 months. Others Colour Hyper Silver, Santorini Blue and Tomato Red need 4 months because of less order received. Their production capable to produce around 500+ each batch, each batch duration almost one month. The ratio of colour to be produce by batch is based on the popularity order received, orders of White colour is nearly half of the total and Inokom will produce more of White colour. He added that normally the delivery will not exceed 3 months in their history except the unforeseen circumstances. Majority customer can get their car just above 2 months follow by the date they order with the loan approved. Sometimes customer can get it faster in around 1 month or less because somebody book in earlier suddenly cancel order or change colour, so the car dealer will quickly give to their next customer. If the car dealer cannot get a owner to register it within a week, the car will be sent back to SD for allocation to next customer. Yesterday i went to my dealer and they offer me Hyper Silver but i deny to accept. Now think back a bit regret but i still stick back my prefer colour after think twice again, reason is 2 months is just nice for me to settle other thing first.

Another issues are our common concern:

1) Uncomplete Tail light
2) Tweeter grill given but missing Tweeter
3) Door Autolock feature

For issues 1 & 2, they received complaints from us (Almost everybody) and the car dealer. The issue has been pass over to SD management and their management has forward our complaint to their Korea principle last week. They are now waiting for the reply from Korea then their management will have a meeting to finalised it then they will inform the car dealer of their outcome. The outcome should be available early next month. I asked him if the outcome that SD decide to install it for us, how will it be done for the cars under production and the cars that owner have taken. He said if the commit to install for us. All the future batch will be install during the production and for the owners who have taken the car, they can go back to the SC to get it done.

For issue 3, SD has confirm that they will not add this feature, reason given is they follow the Euro safety standard. If side curtain airbag is not available in the car, the autolock feature will not be install. I lazy to argue with it.

Another issue he told me (Maybe most of us not aware), The air ionizer for 1.8 did not display "Clean Air" in the LCD display as others country Elantra. SD said that the ionizer is really install and working in 1.8, only the LCD never display it. Can some 1.8 owner check this out?

For the power fold side mirrors. He said if we install it after market, the warranty for the Side mirrors will be void. In a simple way to conclude, warranty only void for any part we touch at the car. We touch head light for HID, warranty void for headlight. He said SD is really very staright on the warranty because it happened that Hyundai car catch fire on the road . Owner claimed that SD QC is lousy and after investigation, the caused is done by the after market add on.

any issue on playing ipod on elantra?

Just now drove along highway, a Preve drove alongside my Elantra to be in awe in all it's glory of my Elantra.
