is filco ninja tenkeyless brown switch good? anyone used before?
*
it all depends on the user - you. tongue.gif
if you don't have enough desk space, a tenkeyless board should do. else, go for the full size.
as for the switch, i suggest you try it first (in the shop or pm kaiserreich for the travelling numpad test) before regretting getting something which you don't really like.

but filco is really expensive..considering it doesn't have LED backlit compared to Ducky Shine.

Filco has better quality right?
*
backlit is not a big deal if you don't look at your keyboard to type / during gaming session / etc.
if you want something which is more wallet friendl (LOL) and promising and with blingy backlit, you can try to go for the KBT Race from kaiserreich. smile.gif

well there are times that u gotta look at the keyboard at night without lights on..can always turn it off. But Filco LED-less is about the same price as Ducky Shine...is the price difference justifiable?
*
if you really like backlit, there's no more reason to compare with filco as there's no backlit filco available.
just go for Ducky Shine then. whistling.gif

if backlit isn't a MUST , then filco is the right choice no doubt?
*
not necessary must be a filco la, other boards like leopold is also nicely built.
depends on your budget,

Filco: PS/2 NKRO, USB 6KRO, effin nice keycap texture but it'll fade if you did not take good care of it
Leopold: PS/2 NKRO, USB 21KRO, comes with blank sets if get from TS, nice blue LED which is not blinding like those on SS, laser infill caps which will fade pretty fast if not taken good care of it

Ya will call my friend to bring me there if possible. Anyway I have tried Majestouch 2 Cherry Brown tenkeyless in viewnet before and i like it but sadly there is no black colour. I am looking for 104 keys  one and with black caps
*
Speaking of viewnet, i went there 4 days ago for some "research" on the mech kb available there and i've found out that there's a lot of brown switch MJ2 and the yellow caps doesn't seems as attractive as it was in the pictures sad.gif

BWU is still the same, only fancy printing on the BF3 version which is located next to their MJ2 shelf

Corsair boards... disappointing i'd say because the R4 (Esc to F12 etc) is not Cherry MX, plain rubber dome switch.

i wonder when will Cherry G80-XXXX reach MY? tongue.gif

the price for the FILCOs still that expensive??? hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
actually the price now is quite standard already, just that the variety of mainstream mech kb in our country is still incomparable to other countries :S

currently we have Filco, Leopold, Cherry(coming soon, source: a member here with MJ2 AI blue), Realforce, KBT. Hope that more will be coming so users can be exposed to more info instead of knowing only those "Gaming Mechanical Keyboards".

what is the difference between Filco AI version and without AI?
*
the case lol. there's 2 AI for Filco, blue and pink.
The old version of AI, uses golden logo while the new AI uses silver logo.

QUOTE(dragorc @ Jun 10 2012, 07:43 AM)
oh ok now i get it, tq for good explanations....is there any brand tat closed to the cherry itself, in term of build quality n performance?

Added on June 10, 2012, 7:46 amis it red is worth to get? coz i read, red n black switches is for gaming purpose n I do want to buy mech kb for gaming...i play a lot rts n dota games so really wanna kb that can suit well in my type of games...I do play FPS oso...
*
It's based on your preference actually. better go tryout 1st before getting first and regret later

QUOTE(C-Note @ Jun 10 2012, 11:08 AM)
ohhh thanks! So filco can only use KBC keycaps?
*
the caps made by KBC fits on all keyboards using Cherry MX switch. If you mean the full sized caps, you can refer to the description on taobao, some are for Filco/PLU/Ducky while some are for SS keyboards

a reminder for those who plans to buy ducky shine for o2jamming:

you will not be able to spam under PS/2 connector as there's a serious delay upon 7 keys being pressed simultaneously. This problem does not occur under PS/2

I have just gotten myself a Leopold FC200RT/ABN Brown switches from elitekeyboards.com. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and I'm loving it. The typing experience is sensational however I needed to adjust my typing style a bit after moving to this keyboard, but it's no big deal. I gotten the tenkeyless version and ones with a blank keycap - although I may regret buying the blank keycaps version as my typing is not as good yet..  blush.gif
*
otaku powah. lol
just get used to it, you'll alot faster without looking at the keyboard.

btw, kinda hard to catch up with all the post recently :S
all of a sudden everyone is on discussion about topre capacitive switch and then buckling spring kb

*
cherry. smile.gif
low budget, fun to type on, last long enough.
example: kbc poker, kbt race, kbt pure (not in MY i think), Filco TKL from Cex, Leopold TKL FC700 (need to wait for news from TS)

else you can go for those china branded boards from taobao, no warranty tho

feeling weird now..becoz my bro say my ducky shine kb consume lots of electric current..lol  rclxub.gif
*
it doesn't consume much actually. if you still worried about it causing the raise of your bills etc, just disable the backlit when not in use. pretty simple right? icon_rolleyes.gif

btw, an info for dk9008 shining users:

if you're using your duck for games like o2jam, you will most likely died in spamming if you're using PS/2.
reason? could be because of PS/2 doesn't supply that much amount of power for your input.
that's my personal experience of course.

Wait until you try something like this, brows.gif

*
thumbs up + foot thumbs up.
anyways, you won't be needing that. normal spam notes like identity will turn you into an ohm in a blink of an eye.
if DK9008S is USB NKRO or has an external usb cable for powering up the LED which i don't think is necessary, you'll survive.

a PLU without those bling bling serves me well.

i've noticed there's quite an amount of users going for brown as their 1st mechanical keyboard. not everyone can get used the to sudden change from big bump to totally nothing. sweat.gif
