Why the graphics in the trailer look so nice and detailed but when I watch beta gameplay videos (whereby the uploaders claimed they are running the game at max settings), a lot of the areas have very low textures and are less detailed? hmm.gif

Planning to buy this game

Btw, just asking.

1) Will they let you download the client now once you prepurchased?
2) Can I download it on another PC then transfer using pendrive to a different PC and install it?

ummm... i wonder whether there will be a boxed version of standard edition......

The preorder bonus is kinda underwhelming. Only get to play 3 days in advance? They really overhyped the game, also with hype comes server launch issues and lag. People will be trying to zerg the login servers and they probably can't cope. Starting zones will be swarming with people, don't think you could get a quest done like that. Think I am going to wait 1-2 months after release, check the reviews to see if the game is actually good. Gonna wait till the dust settles and if there's a boxed version by then, all the better. tongue.gif

Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be another TORtanic. tongue.gif

Won't that mean server queues and lagginess?

THIS is also one reason IMO that GW2 is very well done MMORPG.. other MMORPG suffers from queues and waiting time to play and GW2 just fix it and get it done right!.... the Overflow servers is a brilliant idea! Arena Net really thought everything lolz (seriously really!)
for me Paypal charged me around RM190ish

Watching the Guild Wars 2 Manifesto trailer reminded me of another promising mmorpg: RIFT.

RIFT was also revolutionary and well polished, and was overhyped. However, it just failed to gain traction amongst MMO lovers. Why? Stagnating endgame content. Honestly, don't know why they think that their random world events will continually provide fresh content for their subscribers. Anyways, I hope Guild Wars 2 doesn't fall under this category, and hopefully they will update their content, especially endgame content as much and as frequent as possible. Don't just recycle content.

problem with RIFT was it felt too much like WOW. New games need to break free from the WOW mentality and do things differently if they want to succeed.

You can read all about it here smile.gif

GEH, I guess missed the bug then lolz.. Oh well..
GW2 skills is based on your weapon choice, 2handed weapons got 5 skills each, 1h main weapons got 3 skills each and 1h off hand weapons got 2 skills each, main and off hand weapon can mix up to get different skills set combination..

Other than weapon skills, each profession got heal skill slot (skill key 6) consist about 3 type of heal skill (Instant self heal, overtime self heal, and AOE heal)

Each profession also got 3 utility skill slot (key 7-9) that you can use at a time with about 17 utility skills that you can choose from when you progressing...

Additional to utility skills, each profession also got 1 elite skill slot (key 0) and you got 3 elite skill to choose from

The Trait system got 5 playstyle line that you can put trait points into, total of 70 points through out 80 levels.. each trait line max point is 30 and each progression will unlock a bunch of passive traits that affect your playstyle and weapon that you choose..

from what I see with MOP link that you gave.. Its hardly similiar...

When I was playing around with the calculator, the feeling was somewhat similar.

In WoW, you can choose 1 of 3 different playstyles (specializations). Once you choose a spec, you get all the skills related to that spec and a mastery stat which is unique to that spec, which you can make more effective with items.

Then, there are the talents which give you a multitude of class wide skills and passives, you can choose 1 out of 3 every 15 levels

Please note that they only changed this in MoP. In TBC, the talent tree was far more complex. thumbup.gif

For me the graphic in GW2 in already more than enough...and the same graphic setting work when there is one or hundred player in your screen...it may not be the bleeding edge graphic of today's technology but it works, giving you playable fps when there is like 100+ people casting spells all over, no point having very very pretty graphic and then the fps drop to 10 or worse then there is like 20+ people in your area

whats the point of spending all those time in making the game look too good when majority of your players don't have the hardware to support those graphic, they gonna turn everything off and just play the game, problem is the dev has already spent so much resource into making the game looks good...the story and gameplay gonna suffer...in the end players left because graphics alone won't keep players around for more than a few month...

if the game is good the graphic does not matter...take WoW 7yo graphic model still millions of subs today, why? because the graphic works

on the other hand W40k, dead, Rift, Dead, and the joke of the century FFXIV superbly amazing graphic, dead before even launch...

Just to add to your point. World of Warcraft's graphics has a painterly look to them, and everything in the game is extremely high detailed. Once you played the game, you will miss how the grass moves with the wind and how the sun refracts on the trees leaves. When you see the game textures, you will start to wonder how much time they poured into the game. WoW's graphics engine is not the same as it was 7 years ago btw. They improve the graphics engine bit by bit with each expansion notworthy.gif

WotLK: Introduced real time dynamic shadows

Cataclysm: Introduced DX11 support, light shafts and new water (LIAR BLIZZ vmad.gif )

Mists of Pandaria: Introduced SSAO, better overall lighting

Price Tag: 180RM Pay once...you get all.....don't bother if you havent gt the cash...honestly...people pay 218RM for D3...less content, crappy story....but its D3...hell even Diablo Himself Agree his game is awesome...ask him...o wait hes a transgender now....and hes dead....again....
Thats what my 2 cents are....stop talking about nonsense....for Goodness Sake....discuss what guilds your forming and how your planning to raid shits....not about stuff which are already debated to death and have no value in thought...
