When you think of Queues in the traditional MMO you would just sit there staring at the screen counting down the number which sometime moves up instead of down, but in GW2 Queues means you enter a separate world call "overflow server" where you can do everything you can do on a normal server while waiting to get into the server, whatever you do in the "overflow server" will be there when you are back in the normal server, exp/loot/gold/achivements.. everything
if you are not in a party, you will not even notice when you are transported back to the normal server from the overflow server, it's like magic...only downside is if you are in a party and you somehow dc and ended up in the overflow server you can't see your friends in the same party until you join back the normal server
As for the starting area to be full and crowded, trust me in GW2 you wan the area as populated as possible, mean you are always nearby a player which can and will help you if you accidentally aggro'ed too many mobs, or help you up when you are in the down state. There is no ks-ing in anyway in the game so don't worry about crowded place....
THIS is also one reason IMO that GW2 is very well done MMORPG.. other MMORPG suffers from queues and waiting time to play and GW2 just fix it and get it done right!.... the Overflow servers is a brilliant idea! Arena Net really thought everything lolz (seriously really!)

right now, am deciding between pre-purchasing or just pre-ordering from local distributors(to get the box). therefore, have some questions which i hope can be answered here.
how much in RM do i have to pay if i purchase the $59.99 from their site?
secondly, how exactly useful is hero's band?
for me Paypal charged me around RM190ish
and Hero's band is an ingame item that you can equip and it gives a little bit boost -
Hero's Band provides: +2 Power, +2 Precision, +2 Toughness, +2 Vitality, +2 Condition Damage, +2 Healing, and +2%% Critical Damage
Do note that Pre-Order will only gives 1 day Head-start before the game launches.. and Pre-purchase gives 3 days head-start with bonus Beta Access
