since you oredy using Z68 mobo, why try not find used 2500k brows.gif
btw you can just OC the ram alone without OC the proc.
just set the ram at higher divider. and you need to OC the ram manually,
afaik, no motherboard can OC the hardware automatically.

but its the best if you can OC the proc as well
intel (SB) love higher speed ram rather than tight timing ram.
just find those 2133Mhz ram instead of 1600.

you won't feel any perf boost by using 1600Mhz ram.
*inteL Pro : correct me if i'm wrong as i'm intel noob..

all ram will run at default 1333Mhz even you use 2133 oso will run at 1333. we need to OC them manually.
how much is your budget. winova xtune 2Gb 1600 is one of the best ram but the price is affordable.
you can OC winova xtune from default 1333 CL9 --> 2133 CL9-10-9 with 1.65vdimm or even lower voltage

more review by bro ah_khoo here --> http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1789845

p/s : if you not intend to OC, just add 1 more KVR 4gbX1, can save your pocket money a bit nod.gif

1. winova xtune is 1600 CL11 but running 1333 CL9 at default. noted that any ram will run 1333 at default speed
(correct me if there's any ram that can run at rated speed ; 1600, 1866 without OC)
most OC ram rated at 1.65V, which is the max safe volt for intel setup iirc. it is most safest if you can find a ram
that can run at 2133 CL9 with below than 1.65Vdimm, and the price is sure not cheap nod.gif
for AMD setup, 1.65V for the ram is normal

2. RM300 can get xtune 4GbX2 edy. mybe can run 2133 CL9 at slightly lower voltage compare to cheap ripjawsX
ripjawsX 2133 with CL7/ CL8 or even 1600 CL7 ripjaws is not cheap.

3. if the 1866Mhz was rated at CL9 @ 1.65Vdimm, i don't think you can run at 2133 CL9 with 1.65Vdimm
unless loose the timing at CL10. or if the ram has a good chip, yup you can OC it to 2133.
noted : no points running the ram at high speed but at loose timing.

4. yup your PSU is more than sufficient. your system consume 380W only at max load iinm.. hmm.gif

you can ask Cyntrix about the gskill ram.

LOL exactly, i saw his thread and am considering getting the either Corsair/G.Skill  8gb 1600Mhz running at 9-9-9-24 or 1866Mhz at 9-10-9-28.

if i go 1600, i can actually OC it to 1866 with the same timing or possibly lower right??
*
if the ram 1600Mhz CL9 rated @ 1.5Vdimm,
1. maybe can OC up to 1866-2133 with 1.6X Vdimm
2. 1600 CL8/CL7 with 1.6X Vdimm

if the ram 1600 CL9 @1.6V/ 1.65V, mostly cannot go up...
thats why i say find the ram that rated at lower timing or lower voltage (1.5Vdimm)

OC is not only care about speed bro, you need to care about the voltage too.
ram with good chip can easily set at 1600 CL7/ 1866 CL8 at default voltage 1.5Vdimm notworthy.gif

condition :
proc = stock clock
ram = 1866 CL9 OC to 2133 CL9

stress test using prime/ linX/ run bench such as superPi 32M.
if not stable, then we need to increase the vdimm by 1 notch, depends on mobo
some mobo as small notch (1.5V + 0.01), some has big step (1.5+0.05)
increase the voltage step by step until stable

some people tell me SB's priority is higher speed but i still prefer both ; high speed and tight timing.
2133 @ 11-11-11 is too loose..2133 9-11-9 i acceptable. else, better run 1866 CL8/ 1600CL7
