Guys, currently i'm in a dilemma on choosing the right adjustable for me. My budget is around rm1.2k for this. I choose this b'coz my tyre tends to hit the fender when i'm driving with full loads.

So, from both GAB and HWL, which one is better in terms of comfort level? Sincerely, ii tried HWL hi lo and surprisingly, i found out that it is quite comfort, comparable to my current sport spring (ignoring the bumpiness).

So, who win the battle?
1. comfort level - family ride suitability?
2. durability
3. serviceability
4. long time experiences.

Thanks. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

FYI u can adjust the comfort level (spring rates) if u buy directly from GAB main distributor, they can adjust until u satisfy (2 times free of charge if i remember correctly). I'd advice u to get GAB because they are quite durable, i've used them for years and never have to change them in over 4 years

if ur tyre tend to hit fender when full load, installing adjustable suspension may helps but no guarantee depending on ur rim offset.

adjustable suspension only can make ur car higher and harder to minimize the chances for the tires to hit the fender when full load

but harder mean comfort level is decrease smile.gif

what car is that bro btw? u can roll the fender if dun wan to change suspension, so the fender wont hit tires smile.gif

i used GAB HA series on my wira..handling and grip very impressive, especially when u take sudden corner,no floating like sport spring..but bumpy a bit harder..i use 205/45/R16 and max low at front, sometimes when taking hard cornering,my fender will rub with tyre..
will check the camber later..my experience

1. comfort level - HA series can say bye2 to comfort if u adjust low(1 finger or 2 fingers).
2. durability - i think it been made for malaysian road.
3. serviceability - not yet service(i think RS one kepong do this service,NO?)
4. long time experiences. - can't say much coz use only about 1 year.

in Malaysia, you can trust on brands that goes by the name GAB, HWL, Titan, Hotbits, and TEIN. These are the most commons you'll see. The rest of the brands youve seen, are not recommended. Like, HIT, WINGS, MINES etc. Mostly these are the types that are actually standard absorbers with modded spring threads. Not really a functional adjustables.

You want serviceable? take GAB, HWL, Titan and Hotbits. These are locally made and are serviceable. TEIN on the other hand, is ofcourse made in Japan but, the price for a used one is pretty much expensive and its rather sensible to just get a locally made GAB or HWL brand new for the same price.

Also, GAB with fully adjustable (hi-lo soft-hard) is much cheaper to TEIN hi-lo adjustable.

so, take ur pick. Pick sensibly.

imitation as copying the exact same thing not too sure but, Mine's brand claimed to be manufactured by GAB (hence they will issue u GAB warranty card) but dont take my word for it. Its too cheap to be true. Maybe it'll only last for 6months at most.

btw, GAB was used to be manufactured in Japan, this was years ago. I think back in 2005 or so. And if Im not mistaken, they used to have yellow color..

Almost quoted correctly... almost... smile.gif I said adjustables only come in one setting.. and that is hard because some people are influenced by marketing people advertising comfort and handling. That is a very difficult compromise and can only achieve through customisation and a lot of fine tuning. Off the shelf adjustables are usually more 'hard' than comfort. No point going adjustables if a person is going to make it as comfy as OEM. Might as well just take OEM replacement dampers unless you want adjustables only to adjust the height.

i second on sleepwalker suggestion.
its all marketing gimmicks where involve Comfort and Handling influence them totally.
GAB advertising i have nothing to say.
Currently using custom dampers from Rosli Smart Automotif.
Satisfied !

Mostly they inject standard absorber just like old skool style.
He also does custom damping adjustment, lowering, center gravity setup, drag car setup and etc.
Im way satisfied then my previous HWL,Eibach,Sapura,APM where this setup i can really customize according to my preference which is hard and statically holds.
