due to that week is nearly Hair Raya, so want to know if many shop will close early than usual or much more happenings?
any chance of malay bazaar ramadhan or night market?
any recommendation duty free shop for chocolates/snacks? knew lots can search online but just want to know which is recommended hence will not waste time
thanks
Teow Soon Huat at Kuah Town and Billion supermarket are the names I was told that carry genuine items. The rest were said to May have counterfeit goods. Not sure how true this is. I'm not paid or affiliated to the two stores.
As for night markets there are around the island. You'll need a locally printed map and you should see it. And during the Ramadhan season, many eateries are not opened early and currently as I'm here, I can see it's kinda low season. And shops are opened still but during breaking fast they will close for an hour or so. Cenang road has got more stuffs/food as there are more ang moh there, it seems.

is it advisable to book car in advance?
will be heading there in mid july(after raya)
Recommended you book in advanced. I booked my Innova at rm 132 per day (or per 24 hours cos I paid 264 only for my 3d2n stay. I'm actually replying from Langkawi at the moment.
Staying far north of the island, a still renovating and partially midst construction resort with a private-ish beach, owners are very nice people, lent me a motorcycle (no fees) and i went round the northern coast of Tanjung Rhu. The bike belongs to one of the owners and not for rent. I borrowed because it is a one of a kind bike that's not in Malaysia. Haha.
Dear owners, if you're reading this, I will be back surely.
Apart from that, rented an Innova in advance at mylangkawideals.com for rm 264 for my 3d2n trip. I am not sure why but per day charge is 132, I think they go by 24-hours basis? Driving yourself is much easier and comfortable, better privacy and at your free will.
