Ala, my old Satria 1.8 4g93 also can reach 200 km/h. Apa mau kecoh. Proton had the capability loooooooooong ago la.

And our big clunky waja can reach 180 km/h. If the driver got balls la.

Inspira can easily go beyond 200 km/h. Lulz.

Why people make such a big fuss of 200 km/h?

Bahaya tu...nanti suspension pecah.

depends on the gearing and power delivery lor.. if 200kmh at 6k could possibly be faster to reach 200kmh than those similar powered engine with lower gearing.. of coz maybe lower gearing means lower fuel consumption or perhaps not if it;s a turbo at full throttle vs NA at full throttle..

Just now I on KESAS testing car again, off aircond, O/D mode since car is auto one, 170 only. stupid ECU limiter.

200kph @ 5k RPM is actually good
engine noise won't be so high...FC also better since cruising high speed at lower RPM
if u see the RPM..he kinda rev it...if he rev normally...it should be lower

That is because the driver is accelerating.... CVT got no fixed ratios.... I assume ur altis is torque converter gb....

And Preve got more torque than Altis....

back story about dis is the test driver got cutoff on the highway and he swerve n hit a divider. is accident liao.

and reaching 200kmh at 5k rpm is not about the engine, is about the transmission. better fuel economy. engine good or not we look at red line rpm how high, accelaration curve straight or not, torque curve reach peak at what rpm.

Why every thread that comes out about proton is about top power top speed but nothing about top quality or reliability?

Talk la about what they have do to improve of quality.
Getting top power and top speed is easy, even a bloke with a garage can do it. Just slap a powerful engine in.

i butthurt u people got straight road to test top speed.

But that bloke never made the engine himself. A lot of people are complaining about underpowered protons. If anything this is showing they are solving 1 problem already. Next as you say is the quality.

I think more people are complaining the quality/reliability than the underpowered-ness.
Besides that, increasing power without fixing the reliability first is the wrong way to go.
In terms of power, the Campro 1.3 and 1.6 isnt that bad, although the engine isnt refined.

i'm not too sure about the number of people complaining about reliability vs engine power because i'm just hearing so many things it's all just a big blur that needs cleaning but you have a point

when you drive, it feels stable until what speed? normally local cars stable till 120kmh then feel steering ringan...

when i drove it, steering was okay because it's still using hydraulic steering. in fact it was a little heavy, but still responsive. stable for me was all the way stable up to 150km/h. i never went higher so i can't tell you 200km/h.

Waiting for preve case like this.................

After the test drive unit failed, no more mood to buy malaysian car..

terang-terang see it's a toyota on fire, but still expect preve will catch fire

Quite surprising though in /k a lot Proton Basher but the result said otherwise

30% bad

underpower proton....it actually doesn't mean the engine is underpower
its actually the A/C that is making the car underpower because when the compressor kick in, it take away quite an amount of torque
but that only applies to 1.3L at lower RPM
1.6L should be fine and 1.6 CFE should be fine
and another issue is the GB...last time the 4AT cannot change ratio...also contribute to the underpower/slow pickup/high FC
thats why they switched to CVT

I admit proton air condition is superb coolest air conditioner I've felt so far.

newer gen proton(from saga BLM)..should be stable even at 150-160KM/H
reason?...thats the reason they uses HTS on the body
and ppl always complain why lotus ride and handling, the steering so "hard"(if u jump from T,p2)
because its meant to be that way....when you're cruising at high speed, hard steering helps....u can just basically use 1 hand to control like european car
japanese car...since steering so soft, need to grab the steering using 2 hand...and hold it tight like its going to lose control anytime
