Why every thread that comes out about proton is about top power top speed but nothing about top quality or reliability?

Talk la about what they have do to improve of quality.
Getting top power and top speed is easy, even a bloke with a garage can do it. Just slap a powerful engine in.
*
But that bloke never made the engine himself. A lot of people are complaining about underpowered protons. If anything this is showing they are solving 1 problem already. Next as you say is the quality.

I think more people are complaining the quality/reliability than the underpowered-ness.
Besides that, increasing power without fixing the reliability first is the wrong way to go.
In terms of power, the Campro 1.3 and 1.6 isnt that bad, although the engine isnt refined.
*
i'm not too sure about the number of people complaining about reliability vs engine power because i'm just hearing so many things it's all just a big blur that needs cleaning laugh.gif but you have a point

when you drive, it feels stable until what speed? normally local cars stable till 120kmh then feel steering ringan...
*
when i drove it, steering was okay because it's still using hydraulic steering. in fact it was a little heavy, but still responsive. stable for me was all the way stable up to 150km/h. i never went higher so i can't tell you 200km/h.

underpower proton....it actually doesn't mean the engine is underpower
its actually the A/C that is making the car underpower because when the compressor kick in, it take away quite an amount of torque
but that only applies to 1.3L at lower RPM
1.6L should be fine and 1.6 CFE should be fine
and another issue is the GB...last time the 4AT cannot change ratio...also contribute to the underpower/slow pickup/high FC
thats why they switched to CVT

I admit proton air condition is superb thumbup.gif coolest air conditioner I've felt so far.

doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

engine no power, blame aircon, blame gearbox.

the rest of the car no aircon and gearbox? doh.gif doh.gif what kind of arguement is this?

should i put it this way, proton engine so underpower, put in an aircon and the car barely moves, correct?

myvi no aircon, viva no aircon?

your whole argument above = proton engine underpower la. doh.gif doh.gif
BUT, turbo solved it all  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

Both of you have a point la. He has a point in the sense proton air cond takes a lot out of the engine. You can't really compare proton to myvi air cond because myvi air cond doesn't take as much as proton. Myvi air cond sucks. If I had a choice to make it more powerful I'd take that option.

But you have a point too the engine is definitely underpowered, but don't have to write him off like that. Have to be objective. Both of you have points.

agree....just got car yesterday thn 850KM
if he got the car already 850KM...thn can complain why mileage so high
*
850? Lol the good news is it's only another 150km to first service. New car first 1000km is the worst to drive la.

this means proton R&D should shoot themselves la.

they dunno the air con suck too much power? or they dunno the engine no power?

like ppl tell you, malaysia car price not high, its just becos your income is low.
how would you think of this kind of statement? twist and turn at its best.

BUT, turbo solved it all.

thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

I don't mind the air cond at all. I really like it. Hot day 2 minutes maximum and the car is cool again. Turbo solves the underpowered feel? Good. Now theres a really cold air cond and a responsive car. Shoot self for this?

The second statement about car price I agree is high in Malaysia so wtv. Complain also the price won't reduce la..
