Aliens kena tangkap here in Puchong: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « PUTRAJAYA: In the name of love, several local women were prepared to do anything to prevent the detention of their African partners by enforcement authorities at a supermarket in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
In the 6P Integrated Operation by the Immigration Department and agencies under the Home Ministry (KDN), several local women were seen arguing with and abusing immigration officers as they were unhappy that their partners were detained.
Some of them were even prepared to run to their homes nearby in Taman Connaught, Cheras to fetch their partners' passports to prevent them from being detained by enforcement officers.
Following examinations and documentation, the Africans were released after their partners came to their rescue by bringing their valid passports and travel documents.
Earlier, the presence of the enforcement authorities were detected by several African nationals who immediately made their escape by clambering over a two-metre fence, while another, in his haste to escape in a car, collided with a lorry in the parking lot.
In the operation, which started at 2.30pm, several Africans struggled with and abused Immigration enforcement officers who tried to stop and inspect them.
Immigration Department Enforcement Division assistant enforcement officer Marie Ajeng said the operation was launched following complaints that the influx of foreigners was disrupting neighbourhood peace.
"A total 104 foreigners were examined and 52 were detained for various offences under the Immigrations Act 1959/1963, Passport Act 1966 and Anti Human Trafficking Act 2007.
"Besides them, 33 Nigerians, Indonesians, Bangladeshis, China nationals and Myanmars were also detained in the operation. All were taken to the Immigration Department Headquarters, here, for further investigations."
The operations under the crime National Key Result Area (NKRA) which targeted those from the African continent, was joined by 150 members from the Immigration Department, police, Malaysian People's Volunteer Corp, National Registration Department and Civil Defence Corps.
This was the second operation launched under the NKRA.
On Sunday, a total of 49 aliens were detained at two blocks of flats in Puchong following complaints from the public. - Bernama
