You can start with RTR RC 1st... like HL 518 ... or TEH r-31
*
I wont recommend clones. The HL 518 has lousy plastics and aluminum. But the R31 is mostly plastic. Crummy plastic.

If he wants flexibility, then the HSP or Sakura would be a better bet. Can convert to drift or touring with a tire swap.

Sakura Zero S Kit - RM330
eZRun 9t combo with 35A ESC - RM250
Servo - ~RM40
FlySky 2.4Ghz Transmitter+Receiver - RM70
Bodyshell - ~RM60
LiPo battery (Turnigy 5800mAH 30-60) - RM105.03 (my price but exclude shipping)

Hi there,
What else I would need to get?
Reconmmended controller?
Is hobbywing motor brushless type ? Or reconmmended to use brush type for begineer?

So far I already have lipo  charger only. Left over from my rc heli.
*
Controller? You cant go wrong with the Sanwa MT4.

Avoid Spektrum, as it is kinda inferior when compared to Sanwa or Futaba.

The hobbywing is brushless. Brushed also can, as you don't exactly need tons of speed for drifting.

How much would the Sanwa cost?
Will it be advisable to get 1 extra battery?

How much normally I should keep in mind ready to spend for any maintenance or consumable?
Example like belt or parts that should keep extra in hand.
*
Sanwa MT4 - ~RM560
Get more batteries would be good.

Hmm..
That add up will be around 1750
Still can get 2 extra battery.

But for tire what would the cost be?
Mt4 Sanwa come with chargeable battery?

I have a IMAX b6 lipo charger. Will this be sufficient?
*
Not sure how much drift tires would cost, but I've seen on mudah for ~RM50 or so maybe?

The MT4 does not come with batteries
