Drift? Touring? Where you play?

I am new too... Playing touring now, might tune to drifting for a trial...

QUOTE(kizwan @ May 25 2014, 01:36 PM)
What is everyone preference? Belt drive or shaft drive?

BTW, my HSP 94107 XSTR 1/10th Electric Powered Off-Road Buggy have BDESC-S10E-RTR (WP-S10E-RTR) 45A. Should I add fan for better cooling or it should be fine without?

Am driving Sakura XI Sport, belt driven. Chose belt driven cos worry that if shaft broke during high speed might cause damage to other car part.

since it is a clone from street jam so the spare part quite easy to find.. if you want to buy a budget clone find out about their original counterpart as well..

since nobody post anything, I'm gonna start post something to attract new comers..

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

now rc drift has enter new style ---> RWD which is similar setup to real car that is used for drifting.. in real life only Rear Wheel Drive car are able to drift by oversteering.. so rc drift communities try to achieve that.. history of rc drifting style evolve from 4wd (50-50) to CS (overdrive or under drive rear or front wheel ratio) and latest Rear Wheel Drive aka RWD..

useful website and Facebook pages are:

Drift Mission

RWD RC Drift - 2wd

Most drift track are indoor so no worries about standing in the middle of the sun thumbup.gif

Chassis in the picture is a conversion kit from Wrap Up Next - FRD version 3.0 to convert existing Yokomo Drift Package to a RWD machine.. there is a lot of RWD machine out there and even a home made and modification on existing chassis.. so enjoy biggrin.gif

Good car comes in separately for all parts, typically:
1. Radio
2. Battery
3. ESC (electronic speed controller)
4. Steering servo
5. Motor

Each item easily cost more than RM100...
This allows you to custom your car as per your preference.

Those sub RM100 cars are all in one but does not allow you to configure and tuning.
Not to mention that the performance is no where near the serious stuff smile.gif

If you want to do touring and drifting, you can try the Sakura Zero S. I personally love mine to bit. It's been very tough (been crashing it a lot!), handles power very well, also handles the track pretty well.

- Sakura Zero S
- Hobbywing 5.5T + 60A ESC
- Sanwa MT4 (Or FlySky GT3B if you want to save some $$$ )
- Savox SC-1257TG
- Turnigy 6000mAH 65C LiPo

In regards to choosing between shaft and belt driven, it would be more advisable to get a belt driven car as opposed to a shaft driven. A lot of pure bred racing chassis ( TRF 415,416,417 , Xray T2, T3, T4, Schumacher Mi4, Kyosho TF5, Team Associated TC5, TC6) are all belt driven. It doesn't mean you can't get a shaft driven car to perform, but there are limitations to how much power you can put to the shaft before it bends. If you insist on a shaft driven platform, you can consider the Team Associated TC4, which itself is relatively proven as a club racer over at the States.

hi everyone

just saw this tread.. cz now i'm looking to changed my 'dont know how to said la' hsp touring c/w vantex cxp .18 engine. now near to give up with the engine. hsp chassis it self got lots of problem but in term of learning, as a beginner it is very good for me. to be honest, very good.

as mention above, let talk about the chassis. is the sakura zero s is 'pro kit' chassis ? so sorry i really dont know about it. how about the spare parts ? easy to get ? and where to get ? sakura zero s price it self, how much ?

i have planning to play on the race track near to my house. which one is better for this chassis : hobbywing 5.5T or 9T. not much different on price for both model. but different in torque if i'm not mistake.

how about slick tires ? any recommandation ? now i'm used vantex slick tires purchased from my mega station. rm39.00 only for 4 pcs.

Thank you.
