hi everyone

just saw this tread.. cz now i'm looking to changed my 'dont know how to said la' hsp touring c/w vantex cxp .18 engine. now near to give up with the engine. hsp chassis it self got lots of problem but in term of learning, as a beginner it is very good for me. to be honest, very good.

as mention above, let talk about the chassis. is the sakura zero s is 'pro kit' chassis ? so sorry i really dont know about it. how about the spare parts ? easy to get ? and where to get ? sakura zero s price it self, how much ?

i have planning to play on the race track near to my house. which one is better for this chassis : hobbywing 5.5T or 9T. not much different on price for both model. but different in torque if i'm not mistake.

how about slick tires ? any recommandation ? now i'm used vantex slick tires purchased from my mega station. rm39.00 only for 4 pcs.

Thank you.

.18 engine? That is nitro isnt it? Converting to EP?

1. Sakura zero s is old model, try Sakura XI sport. Spare part is not a problem. Sakura is Hong Kong brand. I think the parts are reasonably priced.
2. 5.5T has higher RPM than 9T but lower torque good for high speed track. Am using 8.5T. Do note that gear ratio plays an important role.
3. Am using Sorex 40R. RM100 inclusive of rim and insert if not mistaken.

There's quite some part that is compatible between zero S and XIS. I went to the RC station in Klang.
The guy at the shop was kind enough to let me compare the parts to make sure they fit smile.gif

1. AFAIK, rear wheel toe normally cannot be adjusted. Only front can be adjusted.

2. Yes.

3. You still can use the stock spur and pinion and monitor the temp. If you want to have more speed or torque than you have to change the gear accordingly.

First thing is what's your budget.. Are going for competitive or just casual.. There are pros and cons in touring same as drifting as well.. So are you willing to go deeper brows.gif

Price range can be between rm300 and beyond.. sweat.gif

1-1.5k won't be enough if you are looking for a good set.
My suggestion is:
1. Get a good radio (sanwa or futaba - easily 600++)
2. Get a good esc and motor (easily 400++)
3. Get a good servo (savox etc 200+)
4. Get a medium range chassis (about 400++)
5. Battery also cost quite a bit (budget 200)

as a beginner, I think start with a medium range chassis is better as parts are cheaper and u can afford bashing and crashing.
Item 1-3 worth investing more because ppl tends to upgrade if started with lower range stuff.
Myself already upgraded the radio from a cheap china make to futaba.
And change a couple servo already.

I can only advise EP. Not a nitro guy.

Just my 0.02

Subang area is best to go ProRC in puchong.. Near tesco there.. Formerly known as MRC drift track and Drift Work Garrage.. Glenmarie no more ppl play.. deining if you want good looking, drift chassis and bodyshell is the only way tongue.gif and can play indoor.. brows.gif refer to my chassis on previous post.. Good looking rite tongue.gif

Lol... I am still very noob... just started last year. Still struggling to make a good lap coz I couldn't get my car setup right.
Be prepare to learn. I would say RC is no child play.
The setup is pretty difficult. Camber, toe, ride height, all matters.

For high end chassis (>1000):
Team X-ray
Serpent

I am using a Sakura XI-Sport cost me about RM500 if I remembered correctly.
Sakura XI-Sport I think is a pretty good chassis at its price.

Drop by titiwangsa rc track on weekend and u can check with the sifu there.
They are all very friendly. Who knows they may have extra unit to let go at good price icon_idea.gif

Yea, touring run at high speed and crashes a lot (for me at least) Its pretty difficult to maintain its cosmetic.
Drifting on the other hand drool.gif can mod and look really nice
