On the cwm matter, There should be restore from sd and restore from internal sd. On the contacts not sure cos i only use google contacts.

Try reflashing the kernel. Should be there and check using voltage control.

Yes. If you using siyah there is an easy way.
1) Open up extweaks
2) Go to misc
3) Remove root
4) Make sure auto-install root is ticked
5) Restart

You will now have superuser.

wipe data, cache and dalvik cache

if you want to you can also wipe system. just make your your rom is in the sd and ready to flash.

try to start it without sim and sd card. if got jig see if can get into download mode. if all also cannot, have to go service center. no choice sound like hardware failure somewhere.

Been using LP8 also thebyani rom. Never had any issue with both these apps. Have you try full wipe and install only these 2 apps to check if there is any conflict with other apps. Also make sure the app are uptodate.

Added on April 28, 2012, 9:56 amYay thebyani 4.1 and new siyah is out. Also abyss kernel is really not bad. Recommended.
