Introduction
Uncharted Waters Online is set within several timelines during the Age of Exploration as a romantic and historic fictional account of the era. Inconsistencies are found in the presence of Christopher Columbus and Elizabeth I of England as well as in some quests. However despite some of these timeline inaccuracies the game offers educational content in the form of exploration. Players can discover quests with historical value such as learning about Greek Fire or Seals.
As an online game it offers Player vs Player combat areas and factional warfare as well as socialization in the form of in-game chat and card games

Gameplay
Uncharted Waters Online features a variety of gameplay. The game can be divided into sea-based areas, land-based areas, and towns. Like most MMORPGs characters gain experience in skills and levels. The player may choose from among 6 nationalities: England, Dutch Republic, Ancien Régime in France, Spanish Empire, Kingdom of Portugal, Republic of Venice. As well the player may choose from several "occupations" after choosing a basic class: adventurer, merchant, and soldier. However players can learn and upgrade skills from other classes, albeit needing more experience points. Under certain conditions a player may change their class, occupation, and nationality. Players are able to trade, explore, battle and join in live events such as "Great Sea Fights"

This does looks rather...new to me.
I mean compared to other MMOs this looks rather new.
Sadly i don't understand chinese at all.
So even tho i registered and go in game,
I can't read a single word in there.

If you heard of KOEI, most of their previous game titles were history themed strategy-adventure-simulation-rpg games such as The Romance of 3 Kingdoms series, Uncharted Waters series & Nobunaga's Ambition series. Now they're introducing all their top hit games to the online community. The Romance of 3 Kingdoms Online is currently under the making (a massive project which requires to intergrate the whole China's history during that period into an online game) & will surface in Japan on mid 2007.

Nope, the server I play is in chinese. You should see an english version by mid 2006, i think...

wah eh, Uncharted Waters was one of the best games of all time despite it's simple graphic and interface. trading, pirate hunting and being a pirate is sooooo fun.

this i gotta try. luckily i can read mandarin, i think i better get my zi-dian ready.

Despite the simple interface & easy interaction, this game is much more complex than you can think of. Seriously you need a LOT of patients, imagine sailing from Europe to India takes an average of 2 to 3 real hours just to get there!
By the way here is a small warning from GM before beta test this game: Strictly traditional chinese mandarin (big5) & english only. Using other forms of languages in-game is an punishable offence, so watch out!

this game rocks, basically the same game back in old snes day with multiplayer.

but i read the web say no ID-key only can reach lvl15....

hmmm, what is id-key? need to pay for it?

id-key is allows you to convert trial account into full account. Without it you wont be able to do the following:-

There are 2 ways to get the id-key:-
1. Convert closed beta account to id-key
2. buy it from convenient stores in Taiwan/HK for NT$99/RM12

btw, do anyone knows any information of the offline version of uncharted waters? there haven been any news since the release of version 4 of uncharted waters(chinese version) few years ago, will there be version 5?

does that mean we cant trade with other players or give/accept money from other players?

btw, i am playing marine,still not much interaction between other players yet, as if it was a single/offline game.
