hey bro,

Just curious...what is the temps you getting with that amount of vcore pumping into the chip?

Cause my 3770k i dare not push pass 4.7ghz @1.29v as temps during prime95 is hitting slightly over 90 degrees..Currently using noctua nh-d14

Yeah. Im still deciding between AX650 & Seasonic x660w for my build

or you could go for seasonic platinum series.. =D like mine!

Somehow, i tend to have a similar liking to corsair...love those black sleeved cables..

CPU on idle.

Intel new user here. So might take time. Few questions:
-BCLK default is 103. Should I change to 100?
-CPU voltage I set to manual but CPU manual voltage is auto. Do I need to set both voltage the same?
-AI Overclock tuner is manual.
-EPU Power saving mode is disabled.

My question is how come cpuz show as above? Shouldn't it show:
-Multiplier x41 as I set.
-Bus speed is 103
However, it is multiplier x41 during stress test. Is it normal like this for Intel cpu to downclock it self during idle?

If speedstep is enabled, yes...its normal. smile.gif

Bus speed you can leave it as stock...it does not matter as long as you don't exceed 101..should be fine

Hey all,

Just curious. would like to ask what is the default vcore for 3770k. I know it varies from processor to processor. But mine is running at 1.184v at 3900mhz stock. Is this considered normal?

I did a little overclock and the stable clock I am able to achieve so far is 4.5ghz @ 1.310v. To me, I find this values a little high. Could I possibly send my processor back for RMA?

It is normal. You let the BIOS overclock for you so expecting the auto settings might overshoot the vCore for you.
You can try set lower vCore manually, like 1.05-1.15v. Test stability.
4.5GHz @ 1.31v is pretty much similar to average chips.
Besides different chip has different VID, different mobo also will affect this.
Like ASrock OC Formula is 0.05v lower than Asus ROG boards.
At stock your CPU is working fine so I don't think RMA is acceptable.

I did not overclock, this are the settings if you leave everything stock. hmmm...somewhat feels a tad high whereas previous 3770k is at 1.08v at full load...
