any RPG to recommend ?
*
I play a lot of RPGs on my Android. If you like stuff like Zenonia, just look for more titles from Com2uS and Gamevil!

I have a few to recommend:
1. Elphis Adventure
2. Seed 2
3. Seed 3
4. King Pirate I
5. King Pirate II
6. Apocalypse of Skyland I
7. Kingdom Story
8. Inotia 3
9. Destinia
10. Caligo Chaser
11. ADVENA

Here's a review that I did of Elphis Adventure. You can check out https://www.facebook.com/Applorer for more reviews on Tuesdays smile.gif

This week’s review is on a game recommended by Applorer in mid-April this year…

*** ELPHIS ADVENTURE! ***

The character designs are amazingly cute (as seen in the screenshot)!! As you can guess, this game is based on the old children’s tale of the Little Red Riding Hood.

B-O-R-I-N-G? Far from it. We’ll tell you why this game is worth your time.

Gameplay –

You start off in the seemingly conventional story of the Little Red Riding Hood where she goes out to pluck apples for her grandmother to make a salad. She then returns home to find her grandmother, somehow looking a little… different. Big ears, big arms, big teeth-kind of different. Hmm… Something doesn’t seem right here.

Suddenly, the Big Bad Wolf breaks out of his disguise and pounces…!

And he gets knocked out by Dr. Gordon’s huge time-travelling machine. This is where everything stops being conventional! This game plays like a casual RPG as you learn new skills and battle Maplestory-ish monsters (like slimes) with Red Riding Hood’s giant hammer. Follow the comic story as the Little Red Riding Hood as she travels through different time periods to battle Dr. Gordon’s enemy, Dr. Kroan, and rescue her grandmother from his evil clutches!

In this game, you can shape the growth of Little Red Riding Hood’s base statistics by choosing which ones to boost with the points that you get whenever you level up. Shop for and equip new items to increase those statistics! You can also customize her looks with various accessories and costumes and this can change her statistics as well.

For people who have finished the plot and want to continue playing on their game file, there’s an infinite dungeon where players can continue to indulge in whacking monsters to no end.

Review –

The monsters have more health points than you would expect and they take quite long to defeat! It’s more challenging than I expected from a casual RPG. But it’s still very playable and enjoyable!

The only reminder that I have for you, as with all other RPGs, is REMEMBER TO SAVE!! Once, I had to close the app on my phone to do something else, and I couldn’t save at that particular point of the story. And when I loaded the game again, I had to re-fight a boss! I stopped playing for the rest of that day.

But this game is just too cute. Seriously. Little Red Riding Hood is endearingly silly and her character provides a lot of comic relief in the plot. The graphics are adorable. The game is fun and it’s still a very recommended title!

Rating: 4.2 / 5

By the way, i highly recommend this app called Applorer for all avid Android gamers. It recommends the best free games on Google Play. You should try it if you love gaming: http://applo.re/app1

Here's a review that I did for another game which is very similar to tower defense:

*** CAT WAR!! ***

For all lovers of strategy or puzzle games, this is one title you should definitely try. If you’re asking what could possibly be so exciting about a fight between cats and dogs, read on to find your answer!

Gameplay –

The Republic of Dogs is the long-time nemesis of the Kingdom of Cats, and this time, the dogs have gone too far by stealing their kittens! So, you come into the picture when the god of the cats requests for your help in defeating the dogs and rescuing their kittens.

Basically, this game combines the concepts of tower defense and real time strategy. First, you have to dispatch fishermen to catch fish and earn points before you can buy fighting units (I guess nothing comes free in this world). Next, you have to construct buildings which will produce and equip your warring units, from close-range infantry to longer-ranged archers. Upgrade your buildings to produce units at a faster pace, and upgrade your units to cause more damage! You can also purchase special characters that deal more damage and last longer on the battlefield, once you chalk up enough points.

The objective of each battle is to defeat all enemies and destroy the enemy tower. Beware that once you reach the enemy stronghold and start hacking away at it, the dogs will sound their alarm and more units will keep appearing to deter you. And, once you complete each battle, this large blue dog will appear, grab the very kittens you were supposed to rescue, and run off to the next tower, effectively prolonging your game.

There are 5 levels of difficulty: very easy, easy, normal, hard, and HELL – which is a must-try for players seeking a challenge.

Review –

The characters are super cute! The cat warriors are a visual treat. Buy and try a variety of units, from your traditional sword-wielding cat soldiers to spell-casting mages. The dogs are actually pretty adorable as well. It’s quite a fun game to play and I would certainly recommend this to fans of the genre, of all ages!

Our rating: 3.9 / 5

Here's another review!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today's review is for all lovers of retro games! Introducing…

*** MEGANOID!! ***

Attached Image

Guess what? Today, we’re going to remind you about the amazing charm of old games.

Gameplay –

The city is under attack! The people need a hero to save the day! Unfortunately, all the heroes have died and there’s no one else anyone can turn to… Except you.

Journey through the city! Dodge spikes, defeat enemies, and collect diamonds along the way. If you finish the level within the time limit or collect all the diamonds, you earn a star and an achievement for each accomplishment. If you get both stars for that level, you can unlock Sarge mode, where you can earn a third star if you collect all the diamonds. This is 2D fun at its best!

Review –

This platformer is a solid retro piece of art. (Even its name is retro – it combines the names of two old titles, Megaman and Metroid!) We love it!! The 8-bit game art and music are adorably charming and reminiscent for all mature gamers who remember playing platformers on consoles a long time ago! Even for younger gamers who don’t remember those days, this is something very different and refreshing from the types of games we see today.

The controls are pretty smooth. The only annoying thing is that this game is actually not that easy! There are several levels that make you die multiple times and you have to keep at it in order to finally complete that level. Of course, there’s that wonderful sense of satisfaction when you do finish that level – it’s unbeatable.

A really good RPG does more than simply help you to pass time on the train home. You know you’ve got a good game in your hands when you’re willing to spend more time on it – You plug your earphones into your mobile device to enjoy the game soundtrack, and indulge yourself for a couple of hours in the fun of the game.

This is one of those games. It brings you right back into your childhood – old-school style.

Rating: 4.7 / 5

Sharing another game with you guys, but more for the casual gamer:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We’re going to bring some joy into your life today!! Introducing…

*** HERISWAP!! ***

If you’re looking for a cute and fun game to play, this title is definitely a must-try for you! It’ll calm you down and lift your spirits no matter what troubles you face!

Gameplay –

Heriswap seems like just another match-3 game – you have to match at least 3 leaves of the same shape and colour in a row to earn points. Meanwhile at the bottom of the page, a hedgehog keeps moving across the screen. Every time you match at least 3 leaves successfully, the hedgehog will be halted in its tracks and you will gain extra time to create more combos and complete the level. If the hedgehog moves across the screen completely, your time is up and it’s game over!

The layout of the menu and game screens is very simple – no elaborate animations or psychedelic shades. In fact, that’s the aim of the developers – to keep the design simple and gameplay smooth. And smooth it definitely is! There are no glitches or lags in the game.

This game can be enjoyed by people of all ages. There are two levels of difficulty: easy and hard. Those who don’t play match-3 games very often can definitely get through easy mode without much trouble, so don’t worry if you’re not experienced with the genre! Experienced players should definitely start with “hard” mode, because that is really the standard level of most other match-3 games.

Review –

Simple as the game might seem, it really is a pleasure to play! The adorable background music and pastel-coloured graphics are calm-inducing. It makes people happy! The main difference about this game compared to other match-3 titles like Bejeweled Blitz is that this game is stress-less! If you’re very concerned about difficulty, you can always start at easy mode.

As I’m one who likes exciting games as well, part of me hopes to see a little more variation in the gameplay at the same time. Although it’s good to play a peaceful and stress-free game sometimes, Heriswap can get a little monotonous after a while without features like boosts or bonuses.

The best way to play this game:
Sit on a recliner and plug in your headphones. And be lost in this cute little world!!

This is Soupe au Caillou’s first game as a budding Android developer, and it’s a pretty good title! Although Heriswap is based on a very, very familiar concept to all of us, it manages to bring joy via its adorable graphics and music. We’re definitely looking forward to the next title from them!

Do you like FPS games like CounterStrike? You can check out this game called Critical Strike Portable. I think you can play it across iOS and Android and even with friends online!

There's always Draw Something/Scramble with Friends/Words with Friends and the like that are also playable across both platforms. smile.gif

Hope this helps!
