rclxms.gif  now I can send my car and give hint to the mechanic, thanks bro dares, I make a call to CoSE right away  biggrin.gif
*
No problem.

let the technician diagnose la, just tell them "I got a friend also same problem, it was the flexible hose, maybe you take a look see"

If you are going to CoSE, try to ask for a technician called Taj Mohamad, he was the guy who troubleshoot my car smile.gif

They chopped it off, weld a new flexihorse? Or they replace the damn thing from catcon all the way to mid box?

If chopped off rewelding, besides easily rust, look ugly & more blockage. U ask Yau Yip la regarding the consequences.
*
If they did that for my warranty claim, I will sue their ass.

Dear all,

I just receive my first car, Saga Flx just now  rclxms.gif

From proton seller to my house about 5km only.. When arrive at my house, got smell like burnt or hangit coming from the engine.. The engine is very hot even for shorter distance.. What is wrong???  cry.gif cry.gif

See attach file for the area got burnt smell..
*
Engine hot is normal. As for the smell, no way to tell what it is, could be a plastic bag stuck to your exhaust and melted like what happened to some members. Come TT and show us.

In your picture I can only see the extractor heatshield wor.

PS Oh btw congrats on your new ride smile.gif

I dunno what is extractor heatshield, but the smell is coming from that silver thing area as shown in pic.. Izit safe to drive from kl to bangi in condition like this sad.gif

When is next TT?
*
That piece of metal with a hand symbol telling not to touch it? that's the heatshield. The extractor is underneath it.

If in doubt, drive to the nearest SC to get it checked.

Not plastic burnt smell. Btw my SA said its normal for new car. Hopefully it is normal case.. Yesterday raining and very cold.. When I arrive at Bangi, the burnt smell is still there..

I want to write safety & health related to this car but I have no mood. The only comment which is very obvious related to ergonomic hazard is the brake pedal and accelerator pedal is not at the same level. This will make my knee easily get tired especially during peak hour because brake pedal is higher than accelerator pedal sad.gif

As you can see here in the pic I cilok somewhere around itenet, brake pedal and accelerator pedal is almost at the same level..

As far as I know, it can be adjusted. But I am used to it so I have no complains. But I agree, it can be dangerous for people who are not used to it.

Cold Cranking Ampere.

Added on April 25, 2012, 4:16 pmWikipedia

Cranking amperes (CA), also sometimes referred to as marine cranking amperes (MCA), is the amount of current a battery can provide at 32 °F (0 °C). The rating is defined as the number of amperes a lead-acid battery at that temperature can deliver for 30 seconds and maintain at least 1.2 volts per cell (7.2 volts for a 12 volt battery).
Cold cranking amperes (CCA) is the amount of current a battery can provide at 0 °F (−18 °C). The rating is defined as the current a lead-acid battery at that temperature can deliver for 30 seconds and maintain at least 1.2 volts per cell (7.2 volts for a 12-volt battery). It is a more demanding test than those at higher temperatures.
Hot cranking amperes (HCA) is the amount of current a battery can provide at 80 °F (26.7 °C). The rating is defined as the current a lead-acid battery at that temperature can deliver for 30 seconds and maintain at least 1.2 volts per cell (7.2 volts for a 12-volt battery).

Seems like HCA is more important. hmm.gif

You really scared me off .. sweat.gif
does that means that the FC will be affected with this problem ? .. and you are referring to downgraded engine performance during city drive ?
I guess it will cost me approx. RM500 +- for this problem ..

If you're replacing the whole IAFM module, ask if you can replace with the IAFM+ (IAFM plus).

If we hv 2change to NEW Batt...
Any effects on car ECU, etc, etc...?

Me rber reading abt resetting ECU by taking off ECU fuse/disconnect Batt, etc....
So if change Batt, gonna be same effects, correct?

TQ in adv.

ps. Need 2b prep since my Batt oledi almost failed me once....

*
Even if it resets your ECU calibration, it won't affect you in the long term lah.

The tedious thing is to set your clock and radio again, no big deal.
